Advice on steering wheels (360)

Hiya, I am looking to buy a steering wheel for the xbox360 and wanted to know if any of you had any preference what you feel is the best wheel at the moment. I am limited to under �100 so the new Porsche Fanatec wheel is outside my budget. ;)
Should I buy the Micro$oft one or some logitech/madcatz version?

Well for the money I brought the Microsoft official wheel, should arrive in the next few days. Its actually a birthday present, which was why i was hoping for some feedback. To late now. :p

I have the microsoft wheel mate it rocks!!!! Very responsive and the force feedback is awesome when your hammering into corners too hard, or when some fecker smashes into your beautiful buckfast mini on maple valley :p

bloody b'stard who ever crashed into me at maple, that was good fun until it got silly.

I tend to find that the forcefeedback is abit of a waste and not really needed, driving various of cars over the weekend, Lotus Elise, Skoda VRS (chipped to 225) and friends Boxster, and my crappy passat in all cars apart from the Elise which didn't have power steering there was no real force feedback coming through the wheel whether youre over steering or understeering. So i think games trying to make driving realistic doesnt actually work with forcefeedback on as it gives a false representation.

Yes in the end I got the microsoft wheel and friend is having to totally relearn driving from a stick.

Here's the main rule for racing wif teh CUK mob, especially Legs :p

Either be first or last into the first corner, anything else and it's a cert for a limp round to the pits.

My mini is teh balls she is running sweet im up for a challenge. \o/

Mate when the car is fighting for grip you feel it through the steering wheel power steering or not!

The next Forza is out on October the 3rd. I'm up for an old Mini race though :) But I think for the new Forza maybe move onto Fiat 500's ?

And the main thing I found was when I was at the back I got a ton of bumps, I think the main thing is we pick some circuits and stick to it, once we all know a course the actual racing will improve no end, maybe start on short courses and then slowly pick the longer and longer versions of that course ?

Start of September though we'll be in the new house all my consoles will be back with me and setup. Getting a wheel though means the 360 would live in the spare room, with it all setup properly, if I just use the controller (I did find those thumb rest things useful) it can live downstairs with the big screen, which I'm still unsure if it will be LCD or Plasma. but the TV screen will be plasma so can play around on that for abit and see how I get on before getting the gaming one

I drive with one of these Kontrol Freek Speed fantastic little mod. Been using it for years.

I'd add a vote to Belgar's thing, I have one of those (infact I have 3 somewhere packed away) and found it much easier getting fine control with my thumb falling off at the end of a session, I even used on on the other stick for the acceleration/braking.

P.S steering with the wrong thumb in that pic, must be my RC upbringing put I always need to be able to steer on the right stick and accel/reverse on the left, any driving game which doesn't let me do that is a non starter

I'm going to have to buy another 360 when Forza3 comes out in October, I've been highly disapointed by my PS3 the only game I really play on it is Fifa, which played better on the 360 anyway!
I'm willing to bet Forza3 will be alot better than Gran Turismo5 (if it ever comes out) anyway.

Well Forza 3 on pre-order, if people fancy a warm up for Forza 3 with some Forza 2 fun in September I'd be well up for it.
