Alternative to creating a wiki

We have a Wiki we use as a knowledgebase at work and I have been tasked with improving it.

I am looking to replace it with something instead of a wiki where it is much earlier to update and easier to read.

Anyone know of any good alternatives?

Searching the net it seems any search with the work wiki in gives you a wiki about the previous words :(

I know, we also use it at work (and agree on its poopiness) was just making an alternative suggestion.

my favourite thing about sharepoint is the fact (at least in the version we use), that the file length limit is shorter than the folder length limit. So I can create a folder but then cannot put any files in it due to file length issues.

My company insists on using a stupid ITIL based folder design for all projects, and its just needlessly long :\

Anyway, whats the problem with wiki? I can't think of something that's more easy to update and maintain?

Fucking hate Sharepoint. Being in the civil service we're only just implementing it and badly at that. Might have something to do with IBM handling the implementation mind.

Every time I see this thread title I think the answer should be "Going outside and doing something productive"

Have you got the time to implement a joomla/drupal sort of CMS-Lite system ?
