As the title says.........just decided to give it a go (being bored of Wow) so anyone still playing?

I am still playing EQ2. I am on Splitpaw and have a Level 62 Troubador and a 50 Assassin by the names of Darakar and Darakin, respectively.

I am in a danish guild called Amenta, which is semi casual in that it raids 4 days a week and you are not forced to attend raids. However, for new members it is expected that people will have a roughly 50% raid attendance. It reminds me of UK in the good old days. :)

thanks guys, I'm on the Runnyeye thingie server I think.....its all very confusing and new and tbh a bit refreshing after the intuitive(yep been there before sorta thing with wow)...........still they say "a change is as good as a rest" .(gosh I feel old heheh)

Anyway thanks again for help :)

As you already know now I am on Runneyeye evil side,

Got a 50 SK (Angau), 39 Brigand (Canlyn), 28 Fury (Anifail) and a 17 Dirge (Cathral).

If you get bored on Splitpaw Dar transfer to Runneye :p We have a small (under 10 active members) but friendly guild here Guild lvl is 24.75 which for the size is great going.

Now you know my char names Gulia feel free to pester me in game :)

Thanks for the offer, but I am good. :) I am in a raiding guild, we raid 4 days a week (I raid 2 days a week), are Level 42 as a guild and there are a lot of good people in it. Our claim to fame is being the richest guild on the server, with 3 people in the top 10 richest people and being in the top 10 richest guilds word wide. We are raiding T6 content and preparing to tackle T7 once it is a bit less broken.

I am back in casual raider mode and life is good. I feel like I did back in UK, except there are no real factions in the guild, no pressure, no guilting and a lot less swearing. :p

If I ever decide to move on to Vanguard, it will be with them. :)

Glad your still enjoying yourself Dara, Amenta always looked like a nice guild. I've stoped playing EQ2 for about 3 months now, as my guild started to split up and friends left I just fell out of love with the game.

I am thou tempted to play EQ2 again when theres been a few expansions out as me and Dimitrus stil have our chrs, thinking of picking up again when the level cap is 80-90 and haveing loads of content to bash away at without everyone rushing arround the same levels. You know how crazy we like fights to be :)

If you see Ark, Emelee or any of the old gang on say hi from me!

I see Emelee regularly, as we stumble around in the same places, but not Ark. Haven't seen him in ages, no idea if he is actually still playing.

LOL Dar there are no CUK as such on Runneyeye :p

The guild we are in isnt cuk they all migrated to your server ages ago :p

That sounds fabby Cath, so far I have managed to get to lv13 and lv9 Artisan and have a nice sweet little room with some bits in it....there is just so much to do, I have joined a guild for now (did tell them I may not stay), and have started to collect some SP point thingies - but so far its just so much fun, really glad we finally upgraded our pc's and bought the game, should keep me occupied for the next couple of years at the rate I level :)

Hope to see you in game soon.

btw predictably Wu is Charlamagne and I am Ggulia ....

So how's EQ2 going these days all... Starting to be tempted to come back and dabble along with a few friends having not really played a MMORPG for months although I think it might just be that I like the idea morer than the actual game if you see what i mean (lets face it I even got bored of WoW by 40ish, maybe I'm just not cut out for games that need that amount of time any more).

Anyone (Cath?) had any experience of the PvP or role playing servers? Might be different enough to interesting although I suppose with unrestricted PvP it could just be annoying.

Off to find a good post somewhere that gives a summary of how the game has changed over the last year. **edit** haven't found a good summary of the main points so far, anyone point me at a good resource/link with an overview of the main changes? Ta

Been meaning to post recommending this to folks Nym. I've been playing it for the last month.

It has changed massively. Never seen such a 180 in a games development. As you know I listed the serious problems this game had when it came out; they have dealt with every one of them. Theres even an expansion coming out in a few months with a new starting city.


Well worth playing now for anyone.

Not that I'd pay Sony for it but on behalf of others what kinda things have changed, how is the new combat engine, how many payed expansion have come out (i.e someone coming back who'd only played the first month), and lastly what's the solo/casual/raid type mix of things now ?

For what it's worth Gotta they are doing a "come back to EQ2" promotion that gives you 7 days to have a look see....

I saw someone called Flight in Nek Forest the other day, wasn't sure if it could have been the 'original' one or not.......still really enjoying the game (double xp this weekend which is fabby)

Only reached lv 35 so far but the tradeskills are brill and got twinkies all over (as usual) definately recommended from me

So, anyone able to point us "old timers" at a "main things wot have changed in the last year" thread / FAQ anywhere? :D

Seem to remember Nym was on one of the Euro/UK servers (Splitpaw?) so it sounds like you lot are on a different server, Wasn't Runnyeye the US server we started out on and then moved to Splitpaw when the euro servers came up?

Not a lot of idea of what has changed as we joined through the KoS version, but it does have achievement points which are rather nice, you get them through completing quests, collections discovering new areas etc....

We are playing on Runnyeye with some 'old faces' on here (although not all in same guild), have spoken to Turm, Vone, Ateena, Zerine just to name a few. Its not the mega raiding pace eq1 turned out to be but its rather satisfying just the same...

mebbe Cath or someone can say what the biggest changes are but for me its back to the good old relaxed days of eq1 and just having fun :)
