Char Specs

Going for the dual wield type character at the moment, someone who is purely offensive and dishes out the damage before beasties can get a look in. Can't decide on the secondary spec.

Don't particularly want casty stuff, and defensive is mostly out i think as I don't use shields.

I had thought about using spirit (if that's the dark,life-sapping nasty tree) for the life drains, or even rogue for the poisons.

Any thoughts?

well, the Caster trees have some very nice Melee Bonuses in there, the synergies make this game, there's Earth Mastery, for a Group Damage add buff (Insane at higher Levels) or Storm for a Self Damage Add buff (IMBA!)

I've gone for the latter on my melee Character, altho ALL melee Characters, especially Dual Wield, are extremely limited by equipment, my Oracle (Spirit/Storm) on the other hand, is an Imbalanced Killing Machine that rips through boss mobs in about 2 seconds Flat \o/

I had also thought about going nature as a secondary for the self-subsistency, but seems a little, well, dull.

well you get pets, and heals, and that instant refresh thing which means you can use your ancestral heroes more often, but yeah i found it a bit dull in the demo :/

i'm a primary Nature person and its quite good fun, i have pets, lots of them and they just kill things, alrhought i am also an Earth second spec, with more pets and group boasts, i also deal out tones of damage to so its working rather well

You could try huting as the second as I did, it gives you the option of some ranged damage with a bow and also supplies some basic buffs for fighting certain beasties, to be honest it was very effective due to the versatiity it gave my character being able to wade in with his swords or simply stand back and fire away, also the bow bonuses can become quite potent to the extent that you fire upon some monsters and have thoroughly buggered them up before they reach you, when you pull out your two weapons and butcher whatever is left.

I have only tried this combination so I can't really speak for any others, although the title is quite cool: Slayer.
