I'll get MWS up and running then and give it a spin, at last weekends play though with Balerien apprentice installed and worked fine straight away, MWS did not (and it sounds like it takes a couple of hourse to get it all working if you know what you are doing (or have those link Entropy posted up) so I assumed people would want the simpler option :)

Does MWS include tooltip on cards in a nice large font, for me and my vision it's one of the things that makes apprentice useable, that and the deck generator in MWS using a white background with white font in all 3 of the colour schemes I already use on the PC (lazy bloody coders).

If people preger MWS though, then we'll use MWS and I'll update the links on the ladder post once I get it working myself and can update the "How to get started" post.

MWS is completely customisable and really is quite easy if you just follow the instructions. I would have thought there is some way of making the card info larger, but I must admit on some cards the writing has been minute - fortunately, I've been able to read it by straining so I haven't investigated making it bigger; I'd have thought there was an option though.

Anyway, just downloaded some suggested themes for MWS, and it's pretty much cemented my interest in it. I gave Apprentice a whirl and found myself not really enjoying it without the pictures etc - it um, took all the "magic" out of the game (no pun intended). If the cuk ladder takes place using Apprentice that's cool - I don't mind sitting it out (I should probably be working anyway). If you guys decide to use MWS though, I'm up for some games, and will take part.

Still interested in this but not going to do anything until we have decided on which client we are going to use, and what cards we should be taking

A sound idea Angel :)

It's looking like it is going to become MWS client though with possibly apprentice as a fall back (as apprentice seems so much easier to install).

I'll get the MWS client up and running on Monday and then update the "How To" guide and then hopefully we can actually get started ;)

Okay, well I think I got MWS installed and working now, it certainly looks right now. As St00d says though may as well use both, as I've not actually played as yet and certainly don't see a great advantage in the MWS client as yet.

Assuming people are ready to start how about we start this thing running next week ?

Well looks like we are getting closer to getting this started. I'm gonna give people a little longer to vote on the poll although it's looking like 2 starter decks, 12 boosters. I'm going to work on the list of disallowed cards (and possible boosters) and open to suggestions on that. Then hopefully we'll get this running by the end of the month.

Ohh I would add that MWS will be the client of choice but I wouldn't recommend registering it just yet (for people that may want to) looking at the forums the 2 dev's (MWSLibrary - CrazzyWizard and MWSPlay - Detonator) sound like there may be a change of a split, and while MWSPlay i think will still be updated when the library is, Detonator is working on something called Virtual Playtable which will do much more than MWSPlay, including board game support and much more multi-player support (i.e Rainbow Magic).

So what I will be doing and would recommend is waiting a month or so and seeing if MWS does get an update or if Virtual Playtable arrives, if VPT does arrive I'd lean towards that if only for the fact it is actually being working on.

Sounds good to me, still catching up on the rules again myself and building up a deck or two to play about with.

Extended T1.x rules may be okay for us, and it seems easy to check in MWS, you can click on Tools and then "Check Deck Legality" and then click the Extended T1.x button

The rough gist of this (ignoring the sideboard limit) is :

Legal Extended Editions: "9E", "SOK", "BOK", "CHK", "FD", "DS", "8E", "MR", "SC", "LE", "ON", "JU", "TO", "OD", "AP", "7E", "PS", "IN", "PY", "NE", "MM", "UD", "6E", "UL", "US", "EX", "SH", "TE"

How does this sound for people ? should be easy to check deck legality and look at the short name when selecting a booster deck to make sure it's a legal one.
