Last night, decided to have a break from my "main" thought I'd dust off my Amarr toon, but I had just progressed to a new agent, and needed to shift some stuff, 10 jumps in a ikkle ship, not fun.

So on my second (trial) account I fire up my mining slave and pootle over to the nearby mining field, might as well do sommat while I wait for Mining IV to train.

Well, I arrive in belt to see a big mining barge stripping the field, and a can under him.
Wondering why such a big ship is using a can, I fly up to it, I mean, I'm in a bantam, no implants, and in high sec space, he is in a dedicated mining ship, whats he going to do?

Well, when I open the can it's nearly full!!! WTF I say. I expect him to get testy, and I look around for a cargo hauler, none, I know the mining specialised ships don't have any weapons to speak of, so I lift a hold full and fly off, I do this about 4 times no response, so I'm confident it's a macro miner, I think wayhey, free minerals!

On the 5th run I spot a caracal in system, flying towards to miner, thinking it's just another curious player I ignore him and carry on my thiervery.

Lock on.

Heh, I think, if he wants to blow his ship up, nay problem.

I grab the minerals, engage warp.

You are being warp scrambled.

Hang on a sec, what if he's grouped with the stripminer, um, this might be the guys "other" account, or a corpmate, either way it's not looking good for the bantam or the 5th load of minerals.

Hmm, salvo of heavy missiles later my bantam is spacedust, glad I used plat insurance, get my cash back that way :p

Manage to warp out with pod, not that it would of mattered, wonder exactly how warp scamble works, do players need to relock the pod? does it have cool down?

I then wait out the timer in the station, but undock at 50s remaining.

I return to the field to see both the caracal and the stripminer guy, now in his BC waiting for me.

I don't stand a chance in my Ibis.

They both lock on and fire.

The missiles hit at 52s since I undocked ... agression timer expired, concord turn up and paste them both.
They both warp out before I can shoot at them with my one civilian rail :p

My main and friends badger2 turn up in system a few seconds later and haul away the phat loot after <censored> has "cleaned" the cans of any fingerprints :p

took 8 runs of a badger2 to shift all the minerals :p

Not a bad evening I thought :)

want to know another fun thing to do to macrominers?
put a new can next to the one they've got.
move all the ore to it, so that the old one collapses.
thier macros will *probably* switch to the new can.
this will mark them as agressive (well, used to. probably still does.).
blow 9 kinds of hell of that enemy mining barge with your shiney assault cruiser.
laugh, lots.
