Sabs are outrageously OP at the moment, fun though.

Ranger / Bard makes for a fast EZMode leveling spec. The beauty of the game is you can have a good levelling spec (say Ranger/Bard) a all out DPS role for PvP Warfronts (Say Sab) and even a utility/ heal/buff role for groups and raids (Bard).

It really is very difficult to get to high levels only to find you've gimped yourself with early choices in this game.

Your class trainer can reset your soul points in a particular role for a small fee (think this is level dependant) but at 17 its about 3 gold which is pennies really.

Regarding builds, it's quite hazy.. people have made some public after finding their effectiveness, spotted a good warlock/elemantalist/archmage one for high end pvp that focuses on survivability against burst damage and self healing but tbh the important thing is to keep switching. i constantly analyse my play, what i'm using, what i'm using it for, do i need higher armour? Shall i drop these heals and concentrate on more damage, screw this buff i'd rather have x.. that sort of thing. And the beauty of the game is that you can do this all day, everyday for many months and you'll always have compensations for every choice you make.

I love this as it completely voids any "I can beat everything except clerics" "i never run out of mana" "certain class is OP" because there is no class system really. Unless after a long testing time in pvp for example you could fin out that you can beat Rogues with 17 Assassin/14 Sab /5 Ranger builds. The glory in that is you wont come across that particular build nearly as often as you would in say "I don't have a chance against resto druids in wow"

Everything can be beat, some soul vs soul combonations will have tricks and abilities more suited to dealing with others but the huge variety of points just means you switch role and that opponent is nowhere near as challenging anymore.

Also i can recommend grabbing good skills, i've gone outfitting/butchery and runecrafting so i make my own armour, supe it up with planar bonuses, then runes.. its like every 3 or 4 levels you twink yourself to the best you can be at that level, love that.

Your opinion is worthless....
im playing a riftstalker/bard mainly bard and people hate me, always hiding at the back taking pot shots and healing away like a metal person :)

use this spec for PVE as well but i want to try out the ranger/bard for pve as i reckon it's probably quicker.

My main is a Ranger/Bard and its insane. Gone 31+ Ranger and about 18 Bard and can take on 5 mobs with no problem and no downtime. This is my build for release and its worked all the way to 42 so cant see it changing now.

It works well for pvp too as your at the back healing finishing your combo moved with a bowshot while your pet harrasses whoever you have targetted :) Had groups gang up to take me out in warfronts as they couldnt kill anyone and I was picking them off :)

Bard/Ranger/Marksman is supposed to be the fastest levelling combo according to some of the stuff I've read.

Get Bard to 10 for the healing and speed buff then raise Marksman. Respec to Ranger in the low 30's for a better pet as the pig no longer cuts the mustard.

I was trying Bard/Rifstalker/Blade Dancer last night and think I actually prefer it. Lower DPS but more survivability.

Melee Cleric, Mage with Pet and Caster Warrior are all decent but I keep coming back to the Rogue and Bard is more fun than any of the other souls.

One thing I'm not sure of. When you buy 2nd, 3rd and 4th Roles, I assume you're limited to picking different roles from the same class and can't pick a different class completely?

You can choose any of the souls you have gained for the other roles. My Ranger/Bard spec is on role 1 while I have an Assassin/Nightblade on role 2 etc. You cant choose Cleric souls if thats what you mean you need another character for that but considering Clerics,Casters and Rogues have classes that can heal it shows you can perform roles pretty much whatever Archtype you are.

At release I will make chars of all 4 types for names and each will have Dps/Heal and Tanking in some respects through various roles by the time I get to 50 on them.
