yeah same, but it hasn't aged well at all tbh. NCSoft have a habit of closing down games that aren't making money pretty quickly it seems
Which is good business sense.

Definately, but they don't even try with them. Look at tabula risa, or auto assault that weren't really even given a chance.
I don't believe its good business practice if nobody plays your games because they believe all their effort will be wasted 2 years down the line when the game closes down.

I loved CoH, thought it was a brilliant game that was well executed. CoV was prettier and slicker (early one you didn't have to trawl miles for missions so muich, with tedious down time) but was just more of the same and didn't wow me quite as much. But I played them obsessively, they really were great games!

Interestingly, I've done a bit of reading on this. It turns out that (if wherever this came from is true) that CoH wasn't making a loss. But they were shutting the game down now before it got to the stage of cutting their losses.
That doesn't add up to me, but it did seem a bit sudden, the general gist is that the staff were even surprised about the news coming out. Various petitions have gone up now trying to get NCSoft to at least attempt to sell the game to another company now, instead of just shutting up shop and suing the fuck out of anybody who tries to make something similar.
