Crazy Economy

Anet have changed the way the rune trader works.

My 22K/46K monk rune is now worth 1.5K/1.9K. I though I'd buy another one in case of a later rise. He has none. In fact he has virtually no superior runes at all even though he advertises them at 250g. Good grief. :(

A thread about the Rune Trader alterations

On a more positive note, the Celestial Sigil price is slipping.
Was 99.9K yesterday. Currently 70K.

At this rate it will be 49K tomorrow, and 34K by Sunday.

Money is a bit meaningless in GW compared to other games. Wild price fluctuations just make it even more so.

erm... how can the actual value of the rune have dropped that much??
surely you can still get people to pay the high amounts of before? or does the rune trader now just have a stock of runes, rather than selling on runes for players?

I've no idea how the rune trader economics work.

At the moment the traders claim to have runes until you actually ask for a quote and then they are sold out. And yet the selling price (for all bar a few runes) is FAR lower than it was. Nobodies selling, so no runes available.

So quite what the real market price for an out of stock rune is is difficult to say.

ANET did apparently stock up the rune traders before the price drops, and some people bough absolute bundles of them.

The sigil prices are now moving upwards again.
Completely mystifying.
