Slightly odd title but I got Talili for her birthday among other things the Audio CD of Richard Hammonds recent book, read my Richard and Mindy (his wife).
We listened to the first CD on Saturday going to collect a parcel from London, and about maybe half way through the second CD it suddenly changes from Richards very matter of fact style to Mindys and it took I think less than 30 seconds before both Talili and I were in tears, I stopped the CD for a few minutes, then played it again and listened to Mindys story both in tears still with me trying the manly *cough* *sniff*.
I'm not sure the book would get it across quite as powerfully (though I think, but not 100% sure the audiobook might be abridged), but I really can't recommend the audio book enough, I'd challenge anyone to not be in tears maybe 5 minutes into Mindys story, and while I know that might not sound like a good idea to some but it really is very powerful. Even if you're not a fan of Top Gear I think people would still enjoy the adventure.
Now can't wait till 5:30 so we can drive home in tears listening to more of Mindys story
