DHCP Relay

Consider the following scenario.

Layer 3 switch, configured with 3 routable VLANS. Data VLAN has DHCP relay agent configured, pointing to a central DHCP server and also a local DHCP server (which some muppet (not me) forgot to disable).

New client on the LAN requests an IP address.

Which server responds?

The local usually wins the race though so you get ~awesome~

I think so too - was wondering if anyone knew for sure

Client sends a DHCP discover (broadcast).
Switch relays the request to its relay agent AND re-transmits the boradcast to all ports.
Closest server responds first.
