Anyone have it ? Looking at perhaps getting a copy for Talili and I for some mobile hack and slash gauntlety type fun and this looks like it would fit the bill.

Anyone tried it/have it/have friends with it ?

Think I'll get 2 shipped over from the US, 40 quid including shipping or 50 quid for UK versions from play.com

It looks Dart kinda like a modernish Gauntlet (and it lets up to 4 play at once) is that about right with more RPG stuff going on ?

P.S Shame the online only works on local area for the 4 people :( could have been fun running around with you Dart, something for the next curry/thai thing perhaps

It's supposedly not as good an RPG as Secret of Mana but looking at more clips and videos I'd be more than happy playing that for some time and especially as you can do it co-op with up to 4 people (shame is it only uses the local network for that), wonder what the replay value is though once complete, can you just run through it again with the same guy against harder stuff getting more bits ?

If that's FFX III it does look pretty good and I was certainly looking forward to it. I was holding out for the new Castlevania for my next game, but may give Children of Mana a go if you guys think it's good, the reviews that I've read were pretty mixed on it though.

It's basically a hack/slash dungeon crawler, if you like that kinda thing you will love it Konami gave it a very high score for them but in the US IGN gave it 8 yet UK IGN gave it 6.4 *boggle*

I'll be able to tell you more when we get our copies and try it though the co-op fun may give us a different biased compared to playing it say single player.

I gave my DS to my niece, she liked the brain training game and it seemed to help her with her maths.

I'll have to get myself another one :p

Spend the 10 quid extra and get the DS lite if you were going to just get a normal DS, the lite is smaller, brighter, battery lasts longer the only downside is GBA carts stick out the front if you use them

Yeah it was a DS lite - a nice shiney new white one. I wouldn't have got the old DS because it looked like a brick :p

Sexy?
yeah, wouldn't go for the black, it's the ultimate fingerprint magnet, looked awesome before I picked it up for the first time though :)

Re Children of Mana I was rather disappointed, I was hoping for something more like the SNES incarnations.

This game is pure hack and slash dungeon crawling. Not tried the coop mode, expect that would make it more enjoyable, but as a single player RPG I'd recommend the FFIII remake over it.

Castlevania Portrait of Ruin is great, I thought it was a bit better than Dawn of Sorrow though most reviews seem to think otherwise.

I think if I was after a pure RPG I'd go for FF3 as well, but there Children of mana appears to be the only full on co-op RPG out there with others just offering co-op races or co-op competitions not actually working together to complete something. The only caveat to that is the fact in co-op only the person that is leading the quest has the quest marked as completed and get the reward (much like some other RPG's or MMO's) but then for some pure dungeon crawling co-op fun it'll do the job. Just waiting on a refund on for the second RC heli which was broken on arrival to fund getting 2 of these from play and a nando's meal :)

If only it was wi-fi co-op like another upcoming square enix one is possibly going to be ... could all have some co-op mayhem on the DS's

Well I'm a little disappointed with children of mana, it is very much a bash everything in sight romp, and don't play a mage character as magic really isn't tha great.

I'm still reading mixed reviews on FF III so I think my next game will be Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime. This sounds kinda whacky and an breaks the normal mould and also has a pretty good review.

Average review for children of mana is 6/10 and 1st one I've read about FF III is 6/10 too (recomending for nostalgic players). Rocket slime has 8/10, so when I've done a few more hours on Children of mana I'm going to give it a go.

Well we brought it yesterday, and yesterday alone clocked up ... just over 7 hours each (playing co-op the whole time), as yet to get a multi-player gem and some bits don't quite make sense yet, but what a blast !! Both melleeing can be a pain if you are close and sometimes you can block your friend arrows, but the flail used right is amazing, pull your friend out of trouble, get them to drag you where they just went.

We're both using wisp as our companion at the mo with her spells upgraded to level 2 with a gem so can both heal 60 a time, the rage/fury reels are brilliant fun and money was tight until by pure luck for the first time we both rolled jackpot at the same time and got lots (and quickly spent it all merging gems and getting better armour and equipment)

I can't say about single player but co-op it's a HUGE blast, will have a quick go today though fixing someone's PC later and then dinner out so not as much as we'd like.

P.S DS-Lite cramp hurts after playing for 7 hours
