Fallout 3 Manual Available Here

Its getting sterling reviews, btw :

PC Gamer France, 93% - Good variety of quests, lots of replayability

GMC Italy, 9/10 - Good atmosphere and turn-based combat, lackluster AI and mini-games

OXM 10/10 - "Between its engrossing story, ginormous world, well-crafted RPG side and white-knuckle FPS combat, Fallout 3 completely, utterly gives you your $60 worth."

Click! 8.75/10 - * Gameplay - 9.25 (Playability: 9.5, Longevity: 9.5, Variety: 9, AI: 9); * Graphics - 8.25 (Appearance: 8.5, Animations: 8 ); * Sound - 9.5 (Music: 9.5, Effects: 9.5); * Technical quality - 7.38 (Fluency: 7, Loading times: 8.5)

PC Gamer UK, 90% - Excellent dialogue, combat, depth and minigames, but MQ is shortish and it's easy to miss things if you're not paying attention

PC Action Germany, 90% - scores apparently start out at 100, and then points are deducted. -4% handling of the pipboy could be easier, -2% boring dungeon crawling, -1% dreary environment, -1% character moving too slow, -1% inventory has console like feel to it.

PCPowerPlay Australia gave it 9/10: Pros - Brilliant art direction; So much content!; Three Dog, yeah! Cons - Odd character physics; No timed autosave; Map isn't too clear.

Sexy?
Cool, good start for the game and pleasantly surprising after some fairly pessimistic previews.

Look forward to giving this a spin now :)

Manual seems to indicate a level 20 limit, based on perk details.

Will be a great game but worried it will be a bit short.

most of nma are twats though. they wouldnt be happy whatever you gave them.
the fact is, if they want to play fallout 1 and 2 again, fine. they can go do that. *whatever* had been done for fallout 3 (whether it was a first person shooter, a pure isometric rpg, and squad based shooter, anything.) the people on nma wouldve moaned about it - either for being too different to the old ones, or for not being progressed enough for being 10 years on, or for just not having quite the right levels of humor, or (seriously. this is what people on nma have been whining about) not being able to be a child killer.
so honestly, i'm not too inclined to listen to a thing they've got to say.

I think if they'd had their way it would have been a better game.

Just like if the LOTR purists had had their way, the films would have been better. I didn't really enjoy them at the time, and I think a lot of people have come to think the LOTR films were a real missed opportunity after the initial hype died down.

I'll still give Fallout 3 a whirl though - hopefully it'll be good in other ways!

Level 20 is the cap, which apparently is not tough to reach half way through the game, if you do all the side quests. Deal breaker for me :(

Maybe wait a few months... don't think it comes with an editor, but if it's based on Oblivion, I expect people will get that working with it and then there will be modes for difficulty and breaking the level restriction

Stupid is as stupid does
He woz first to Sixteh.

Not sure I wouldn't buy Fallout 3 just because you hit the level cap before the end of the game though. Its an RPG not an MMO so, well, the single player game should be captivating enough even without the levelling up.
