a few questions to those that are further in the game than me...

ok... so, upgrading weapons/equipment.
should i do it?
if i upgrade this gladius, am i just wasting mats that i'll want later on?
does it matter which items i use to upgrade items, except for the weird thing (that i wish you could see in advance :p) that some items increase/decrease the exp the weapon gains from future items?

is there any harm in spread my points all over the crystallarium thingy rather than saving them up till new areas open up the one i'm spending all my time in?

also, wtf is vanille's deal? goddamn jailbait!
and i think lightning giving a 14 yr old a knife like that is sending all sorts of wrong messages to kids :p

As I only reached that bit last night, I just randomly dumped points into the crystal thing, didn't help that half the time it didn't want go the direction I intended so I ended up with 'ah well points in it now'.

is there a way to use techniques that dont belong to the current party leader? i'd love to use 'quake' that Hope has, but if i go into techniques with lightning as leader, i can only use her techniques.

I think the techniques are job specific? So if Lightning learns Hope's job she should be able to learn quake (if I understand it correctly).

well probably (although different people have different abilities within the same job, compare say zasz's (or whatever his name is) synergist stuff with hope's. and anyway, that would still mean i've wasted all those CPs on hope. (not that this is a massive issue, as CPs are pretty easy to come by :p)
or do you mean that if i change role to ravager in battle, i'll have access to it even without having spent the CPs to pick up the skill on lightning?

I think you'll still have to pick up the skill on Lightning, otherwise it wouldn't make sense to raise the talents for the groups members individually if they just get pooled in the end.

Corwin

The Burninator
i swore i posted on this earlier

As long as hope is in the Ravager role, and you've had enough information from previous fights, he will pick the best spell for the fight, ie if the monster is fire susceptible he'll use that etc

I think later on you get full control of the party and can change leader as required.

i may be explaining this badly :p my point is that Quake is a Technique - so it uses Technique Points. so honestly, i dont think i'd want him using it whenever he thought it was a good idea :p

Cymru Am Byth!
Currently on Chapter 11, planning on staying there for quite a while. :)

I'm pretty certain the techniques and summons are ONLY available to the party leader, I've never noticed the other party members kicking off their own anyway.

Going back to the weapon upgrading thing... I may be missing something but this seems like it's going to be a massive grind compared to the job levelling.
Over 25 hours in and all the crap I've amassed over that time is just about enough to upgrade one weapon (maybe two at a push) to the first tier max (*), and that's making use of the 3x xp bonus!
Buying more crap is another solution but I've acquired so little gil throughout the game, it wouldn't stretch very far.

At this rate, just getting a single weapon up to ultimate level is going to take an absolute age... good job the game is so damn fun! :)
