I might have to give this a go on the PS3, I hope it doesn't use those waggy things for spell casting or mellee attacks (thought the idea of not just pressing '1' but drawing the spell on screen to cast it does appeal, and would really show how good a spell caster is under pressure :))

skill based .... now I like the sound of that, more UO/Darkfall like leveling which makes much more sense (though be interested to see how they handle not crippling casual players with skill decay)

Shiny FMV is shiny.

I find it interesting that the character race types appear to be lifted straight from FFXI but it won't be set in Vana'diel. The Taru appear to be absent, though there are some young-ish looking characters in the concept art on the website...

The setting reminds me more of FFXII with its mix of fantasy, tech, weapons and vehicles. I wonder if personal vehicles will play a role given their prominance in the trailer?

Given how comfortable I was using the PS controller + keyboard combo, I think I'll probably plump for the PS3 version (esp. as I've since switched to a Macbook Pro at home and retired the PC).

Hopefully they'll take what they've learnt from the latter age of FFXI with regard to helping people group up easier despite level differences/playing styles!

It's a bit cheeky how the "screenshots" are just captures from the trailer!

Anyhow, excited here!

Does the PS3 have a keypad thing like the 360 ? I'm hoping to not need anything but a controller in my hand if I get the PS3 version
