First Death

Just had my first HC death, lvl 16 Barb. Stupid Windows gadgets decided to crash and pop up a window to tell me just as I was getting swarmed somewhere in Act 2.

Oh well, that's what it's all about I suppose

I'm hearing folks suggesting that you may want to quickly end cutscenes and avoid alt-tabbing if you're queueing to play when playing hardcore. The reasons: 1. The game doesn't pause during cutscenes (so you could trigger a pack and die) 2. A new game will load from the last active point and if for some reason it wasn't in town you may get swamped on game load.

Logging off in town & being super slow with activating things is probably par for the course for hardcore pros tho

I had this today, logged on with my wizard and ended up surrounded in a dungeon somewhere. Exited and got mobbed in the desert too! I was sure I'd logged her off in town though. I've been playing Path of Exile beta and they have a ten second immunity timer every time you change level/zone which seems a good idea.

Another thing to be wary of is levelling up whilst you're battling a horde. You get an endless stream of 'you've just unlocked skill x' appearing right in the middle of the screen which is not good :-/
