FTTP PPPOE Routers

I am looking for advice on the the types of FTTP PPPoE Routers that are available and wondered if anyone here are using any.
My new build estate in Didcot, Oxfordshire has just become active and I placed an order this morning with my service provider. While FTTP as a whole is still in trial stages with many ISP's, I apparantly need a router that has a WAN input but also supports PPPOE and not PPPOA.
I will be getting 80 down and 20 up for the moment but that will increase once the trial has finished and made retail.

I am a fan of Netgear as I used D834G for the last 13 or so years and it has been faultless. but I welcome others input.

Had noticed FTTP on demand was available over here in Abingdon, I'm guessing the install costs will be off putting though! :)

Will they be providing a box off the phone line like FTTC so you need a router to patch into that or are you looking at just having the one box attached directly?

They will be doing two visits, the first is to put a box outside the house, the second visit is to do all the internal cabling.
I was hoping to find an all in one unit for which there are a few out there but wondered if any people here have had experience.

Yes it is not cheap with 80+vat activation plus 38+vat advance payment, the Routers seem to range from 25 from Zen Internet who are my ISP, but I am not sure how good they are.

Mutley !!
I use a Draytek 2820 for my FTTC connection (obsolete now) - I think its replaced by the 2950 - like the 2820 this has an ethernet WAN input socket. Its a rock solid router (we used about 200 of them at the last place I worked). The internal firewall has a decent throughput on it too.

EDIT - whatever you go for, make sure its got the throughput to handle ~100Mb broadband.

I think if you want just the one box you need one which supports VDSL I'm not 100% on FTTP though.

I'd second Tempy on Draytek though.

Thanks guys for your input I will take a dip and have a look into Draytek, just choosing the right model.

Kelgar, didnt realised you lived so close, was in the woodstock area for 8 years before moving, still working in Oxford.
