Game recommendations?

I just decided to quit Ghost Recon online.

The matchmaking is doing my head in. It is so frustrating to fight people that do twice the damage I do and have double the armour. The maps are really inconsistant. I have seen people hide behind a glass balcony in Markov Station that was obviously bulletproof. At least over a hundred bullets from a specialist could not penetrate it. On the other hand, I have been shot through walls that look solid (obviously aren't) more times than I can count. And I have been shot through solid walls (because I could not shoot through them) by others so much, it is downright ridiculous.

Can anybody recommend an online action game that is neither World of Tanks nor Mechwarrior?

Something where you actually need skill to win and not just superior equipment? Where the difference between longtime players and new players isn't quite as pronounced?

Counterstrike ? or for the more animation models and fast and furious gameplay Team fortress 2?

Both probably have smaller maps than the likes of battlefield (not played ghost recon).

Sounds like you could me having lag issues as much as anything Dara, but perhaps TF2 ? It's free I'm pretty sure now so no harm in giving it a spin, and my understand is all the purchased things are eye candy than actually affecting the core gameplay (could be wrong on that)

Don't underestimate skilled players in WoT, yes equipment plays a large part, but good skills and knowing your tank make a huge difference.....I should know I'm crap :)

The issue I have is more with the lag of others, Gottaa. ;-) In Ghost Recon, the players that are lagging are the ones warping all over the place and being able to shoot you 4 seconds after reaching cover. A good connection isn't helpful there and I am on a good connection. :)

Team Fortress 2 might sound like something to check out, though.

You could try out Natural Selection 2. I've been playing since beta and love it: it's a mix of FPS with a commander on each team that plays as an RTS game. Can be frustrating if you're in a bad team (but aren't all games), but it's a lotta fun.
