Guild Hall Fighting Fund

In case you haven't looked at the Guild Halls yet, you can get a ferry from the South pier of Lion's Arch. At each island there is a sigil trader. The sigils (which you need to get the hall) currently cost about 38K.

I have started the fighting fund with 8K of my own.
My character 'Inland Revenue' is looking after the money.

Well, 38K seems a lot more achievable than the 70+K it was a month or so ago.

When we get close to the total, we ought to spend some time picking our favourite hall/island, but that is for another thread.

Happy scrimping ;)

Message me when you see Faith online, I'll get a k or so out of the xunlai agent.

If you see Cherry Aide online get him to log into my account from my machine. Faith has the money.

Looks like I'll be here until Thursday :p

what exactly is the point of putting cash into the xunlai agent? is it just so you cant spend it by mistake?

Also, the Xunai Agent space (incl. money) is shared by all your characters, so it's a way of sharing stuff between them.

Yaay! Self Twinking!

meh, i'm used to that in wow anyway :p
(there was a point in wow, after playing my alt to about lvl 4, that i realised a) i had better bags than most lvl 40's and b) the equipment i would be getting from quests for the next 15 levels wasnt going to be as good as the equipment i'd already got waiting in the bank for me, in all the space paid for with my main's money :p)

Byzah gave genrously tonight - 3K
As did Coalman (Steve Brickman) - 3K
I scraped together another 2K

We are now up to 23.5K

The bad news is that celestial sigils this morning had gone up to 91K !
That's some inflation (139%) over 1 week!

I expect the price will come down again eventually.
So long as we get 40-50K together I reckon that will be enough in the not too distant future.

I'd say buy as soon as the amount in the fund >= the cost of the sigil.

We can use the Guild Hall immediately to have some pvp fun if I'm understanding what I've read correctly (non-Ascended can use PvP characters). Even better, you can mix it up with guilds without affecting your rating & there's an automatic challenge feature, too. So as soon as we get the hall we can start learning the ropes. Going to be funny to start with, I think.

Regarding PvP characters -- everyone try and keep a slot free so you can build these. You can use any skills or items "unlocked" during play.

Once we've got the hall, we should stick a post in General Chat. Lot of CUKers love PvP & some of our more hardcore players could plough through the PvE content in a single weekend, I'd think.

yep, dont worry about the cost of the sigil.
just if we can afford it, get it. once we have it, we can decide where we want to be. (is there much difference? i leave it up to you high levels to decide wheres best. i assume one of the late on places.)

Think it's always on the same location on the map (on an island) and I *think* everyone can click on it to go there. Hope so, anyway.

But you do get a choice of maps (think Quake map). As we have a liking for rangers, we may like a map with lots of long approaches (ranged) and pinch points (traps)?

Guild battles are fought on these maps. I'm guessing that if we accept a challenge, we fight on this map - if we challenge, we fight on their's. How it works when you go for the automatic option is anyone's guess. Possibly based on rating, possibly random. I couldn't find any really good info on pvp last night (as my links attest!)

oh sweet. that sounds well cool :)
anyway. nice long approaches - yes.
choke points - definately yes. we have several high level elementalists too i believe, and that means tasty aoe :D remember - long approaches works both ways, choke points only works against the people going through them - ie, the attackers.
