Guild Night(s)

Well Monday wasn't always suitable, but officially we couldn't think of a better night that suited everybody.

Since we have different requirements from different people, how about
a) a low level / pre ascension night
b) a high level / post ascension night
c) PvP night

Obviously these are only soft defaults and it depends who turns up.

Up for discussion, but how about
a) low lvl - Mondays
b) high lvl - Tuesdays
c) PvP - Wednesdays

Bear in mind these are only my provisional suggestions which are open to change if that's what people want.

It also very much depends who turns up on what night and what they want to do.

I suspect we may be doing some low level missions/quests tonight (although we're a bit spread out). We'll just have to see.

I'll be about tonight (Monday) at 7PM.

It's low-level missions/quests night, so we may have to split up into separate four-player groups depending on where we are.

It's doubtful I'll be about on Wednesday.

Well I'm back now. OH is on late shift tonight, so I'll be available for some PvP or whatever. In fact I'll probably be on at points during the day as well.

I find watching the Guild battles in 'observer' mode quite fascinating, even if I don't really understand what is going on.

(If you click on a player you can see what spells they use even though you don't see their skill bar. Over time you work out the build.)

There seems to be a dedicated flag runner - often a ranger/monk using Dodge for the speed boost.

Some of the better Guilds actually use the same hall as us! Trouble is, you have to understand them all really.

The ranger spike teams seem particularly effective (Dual shot + Punishing shot) x 3 or 4 rangers synchronising via TS (or vent).

Monday 7PM for low level missions/quests.

IIRC there is practically a whole team up to Yak's Bend so I suggest we start the next mission from there. (Side quests for groups to do at other times.)

It of course depends on who shows up, and what they really want to do.

7PM tomorrow (Monday) for lower level missions.

We got up to Beacon's Perch last week. So the next bit is the walk to Gates of Kryta and the mission there.

Jerro, you had to leave early so still need to do the Frost Gate mission. Hopefully I may see you beforehand and pull you through it.

Update - I'm through the Frost Gate (thanks, Dark Swan). I tried my best to get the henchies killed, but DS kept them alive somehow. Note to self - learn how to lure with the bow not by running up and standing beside them.

I'll be online for 7pm tonight. I'm on call-out tonight, so if I need to break away after the first mission like last week, then I apologise in advance.

The henchies are a bit of a nightmare on that one, espescially on the bonus part. A team of players would easily run away from four dolyaks (healers) but the warriors ('suicide brothers' i call them) just will not disengage. I think we lost all the henchies 2 times in all, individuals more. That's a lot of death penalty!

It was a nightmare when moving up to do bonus we engaged a necro group, the first wave of bonus ice golems and two dolyaks :-O That really was the henchies fault. Even when you lure with a bow and fall back the 'suicide brothers' just go in anyway. That wouldn't happen with real players.

Also 2 player plus henchies is much harder than one player and henchies. The two players have to move as one to keep the henchies together or one player takes half the henchies, or the henchies run about like chickens between the two players getting in the way and doing nothing usefull. We did quite well to get mission & bonus, considering.

I'm sure you'll see you're bow luring will work much better tonight in a real player team.

It's not compulsory to follow the Monday group. Of course you can play elsewhere. I don't see why people should be forced to re-do missions they have already done. (Obviously I don't mind.)

We'll catch up with you in the Wilds in a couple of weeks I guess. My favourite part of the game :)

7PM again tonight for the lower level group.

It may be the better idea to do some of the quests around Lions Arch tonight (to pick up skills) rather than jump into a mission. So please visit as many NPCs as possible to get the quests.

This link may help to find your way around LA. Click on quest name for details. e.g. 'Orrian Excavation'

We could also get to the map locations of Beetletun and Bergen Hot Springs.

World Map

Do not try to get to 'Temple of the Ages' from this region. It is FAR to hard.
This is easier to get to from Fishermans Haven upwards, but is a bit of a trek. This is for later in the game.

We did a few quests in the area around LA, but still have a few more to do.

Made the waypoints though, which was good. ;)

Perhaps we'll polish off those quests in the meantime, or next Monday, and then do the next mission.

Remember to get your reward & next quest from Magi Malaquire - a capture signet. I suggest you use this on the next mission when it can be used, rather than taking up a skill spot on the remaining quests around LA.

I've loaned Tannis the green bow Taz gave me (so its a Guild item - don't personalise it!). I have a couple more gold bows which might be useful for Jerro to loan as well. So pls ask.

Yay for guild property.

I missed you ingame when I popped in recently.

Welcome back Taz :)

Yeah good innit. Rather glad I didn't sell it now. (Didn't desperately need the money.) I'm not sure where your second character is now, but the new group is coming along well now. Well established at LA. Will soon be in the jungle areas (my favourite).

Also, given you were always a better monk than me, if you fancy a real rush, PvP as a monk is mad. You will be #1 target. The trick is to survive 'long enough' for your team to win. I can give you my build as a starting point if you like. We do really need TS back up for it to be a positive learning experience though.

I've rolled a Wa/El to try out in the Random Arenas in the meantime. See if I can work out how to do some quick damage. (Defensive Warriors are a waste of space in PvP.) Got my skill choices from using observation mode. Just need to work out strategy and skill execution now. Not much! ;)

No problem. Its no use gathering dust in my stash.

I'm only disappointed now that I sold a load of elementalist gear when I deleted 'Inland Revenue'. But I really didn't have the space to keep it all. :( Would have been useful for peeps now :/ But there you go. You can still get some very good gear from the collectors.

Lower level party night. (Although highers can help if they want.)

I should be about tonight. Hopefully at 7 although it might be 7:30 if I'm unlucky.

I suggest we crack on with the mission at the D'Alessio Seaboard. This is one mission I have NEVER managed the bonus on - I think u need to run a split team and time it just right - so lets not worry about the bonus.

REMEMBER: Get your capture signets from Magi Malaquire. There will be bosses to capture from on this mission. :)

I'll hand out TeamSpeak accounts to those who want to use them. I suggest we do. It is so much more useful, and a laugh when people panic ;)
