Just took my first hirelings out for a spin, good value really if you are squishy at 24 gp for a level 1 hireling for a quest. Steel the warforged fighter seems to be quite an efficient killing machine (nice to see them chugging down their own potions as well).

I'll have to test a cleric out soon to see if they keep me alive.

A couple of piccies

1)Nightfall in Korthos Village (Resting up after a hard day)
2)Hmm I've been here before (The reworked starter mission "Retrieve the Scroll" now in Korthos Village).
3)Mindflayer gets put on ice (The climax of the quest chain on Korthos Island)

If anyone is around after Christmas I should be around to start playing again by then.

Later folks o/

Aye very nice... oh and I thought that pally's were immune to fear?

Have been feared twice once in the new starting area and once in the waterworks. I am sure pally's are supposed to be immune to fear...oh well...

...and...I HATE kobolds..especialy the little b'stads that keep jumping back or side shifting when I am trying to t**t the sods. :p

Dead Again, I need a Rez
How has this game changed since I played last? I still liked my Rogue but not many people played.

I think I still have a piccie of you sat in a chest on my old PC Dart :)

Hmm how has the game changed since you last played?

1)Guild lists work
2)Friends lists work
3)VoiP works
4)More content than you can shake a stick at(until the inevitable halt at 16th level cap) including new explorer zones.
5)Attack chains now work by holding mouse button down over the period of the chain instead of clicking multiple times. Special attacks such as trip, sunder fit into chains cleanly (apparently)
6)Hirelings have just been introduced and although there are some gliches for the most part work well
7)New Player Experience (Korthos Island) has been introduced - see above
8)Monks
9)Crafting (of a sort) brought in - either ingredients being traded for items through NPCs or ingredients being used with recipes in Eldritch machines.
10) PvP (lol) - token effort which includes bar brawls and "games" like CTF, DM.

+................other stuff I can't remember.

Player wise most of us are in The Spellswords who are a nice bunch of folks who play for fun more than anything. At the moment CUK players are on a lull for various reasons.

Tomorrow we plan to try and kick off a "static group" to play solely on Tuesdays so the group advance at the same rate. Non-twinked and played as closely as we can to the spirit of the game.

Example: Rogues find traps (unless the fighter runs into them *looks at Ommy* :) ), not the wizzie who remembers where the box is and points at it jumping up and down :D

I did the 10 day trial recently, as this thread had peaked my interest.

I was pleasantly surprised, as the last ime I looked at this was in beta.
Still I haven't a clue about the D & D rules, so I wasn't sure what I was doing, but the Korthos start area quests were nice and varied, not just kill X & then go kill Y and you felt like a hero.
I didn't play it long enough to try a group, so no idea how the mechanics work, but the 10 day trial felt like a very polished single player game ala Fable2.

Should have dropped us a line and we'd have cracked out the lowbies :( Ah well, too late was the cry.

I take it you finished Misery's Peak?

SPOILER (possibly, although my screenie may well have done that the other week) ;)

My first thoughts were "wtf a dragon and Mind Flayer, I'm outta my depth. I could get used to living on Korthos, no rush to leave really" :)

Oh if anyone hasn't done already, when you do the quest that used to be "Low Road", look through the gate at the end before you seal it.
