I like it but blimey matching games vs others is ridic. I was playing my priest level 6 last night with 14/20 basic deck and I kept coming up against Legend cards packs, 3-4 in one game.

Seems a real grind to get new cards unless u pay alot.

I agree Taja, its a real struggle to win sometimes but its handy that there aren't any bad cards. Everything has a way of being good even if you have to make it a weird way of being effective.

I have yet to spend money on it and i found that eventually you get a few valuable cards and if you dont.. disenchant what golds you get to help you make what you need. Its a longer way, but the thought of giving blizzard any money at all makes it a no-brainer for me.

Bear in mind that the pool of players... and therefore skill levels will be more widespread once the game is out of beta.

Match-making is rubbish.

Playing in casual and keep getting 'worthy opponents' who have decks full of rare or even legendary cards!

Still enjoying the odd game now and then.

Hmm seems that even forum mods agree.

Mand -
"Your frustration is entirely real and valid, and why I strongly believe MMR should be class-based, not account-based. What you are experiencing is the kind of transient MMR failure I described above - when you swith to a weaker deck, you no longer have fair matches. And after losing a bunch and switching back, you have MMR failure again, as you proceed to stomp upwards again.

Ideally, each deck would have its own rating, but practically that can't work. Class-based MMR is a reasonable compromise between having enough games to make MMR work at all, minimizing info that needs to be communicated to the player, and ensuring fair games as much as possible."

So if I have understood the match making right - your games are set at 50% win/loss based on your skills & level.

Crap players with rare/higher cards or players who deliberately lower their ranked MMR (to get gold for daily quests) to stomp newbies in casual get paired together.

I hope they look at the MMR then and try to make it fairer, perhaps as suggested on their forums - tiered matches or class based for that class level would make more sense if it can be done.

Failing that I guess I will just have to L2P :D

I am still in the practice bit, but It seems that the computer is allowing me to win. I always seen to draw the right card at the critical moment, sometimes grabbing victory from the jaws of defeat. Takes away any sense of achievement tbh.

Cull, you must be good m8, the practice against the AI kicked my arse more times than not before I managed to beat it and unlock every class.

Interesting thread about the match making system as it is right now.

MMR thread

Quote from Mand in thread clears a lot up, he clarifies that level makes no difference later on in the thread as all is based on the win/lose ratio.

However it sounds like unless you play a 'higher deck' from your best toon then you will be at a major disadvantage, due to the lower leveled class not having as many cards to choose from.

I'm gonna post this Question on the forums and see what is said.

Just in case anyone else's account has ballsed up since go-live. My Hearthstone screen showed 0 friends online following the change from beta to live. Even though my region showed as Europe I'm guessing it wasn't set correctly but nothing a quick re-install couldn't fix.

I notice that Swither sent through a friend request though so figure that others may be displaced so may wish to reinstall to give it a kick to the correct region.

Haha sweet, hurry up as I'm sick of getting beaten on by 12 year olds. Is worse than Savile's Travels.
