I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this for me - any suggestions really appreciated...
My other half logged on this morning to find half of his characters gone!!
He has the station pass thing where he gets 8 char slots - 3 out of his 7 have just vanished.
No response yet from anyone in game
Any ideas?

In beta, characters used to disappear when the server they are created on is down.

Check the EQ2 forums see if that is the case.

we need to ban WOW players from here. All they do is come in and insult EQ and try to take the players.

Its getting very very old.

Can you please stop it as the EQ2 guild is damn small now after you poached all the players.

Yeah, I'm sure that a few "come join us in WoW " comments are the reason for people changing games. Respect people enough to make their own choices.
We can't "poach" players, if they move over, that's their choice. I sympathise if guild numbers in EQ2 are dwindling, hell we're not exactly over-flowing on the PVP server, and I kept playing HC Diablo 2 despite there only being about 3 of us playing regularly. However, there's no need to get so possessive of members.

If not, try a complete file-scan from the patch screen.

The latest is he had a reply from a gm basically saying that when a pc crashes, the char that was there disappears from the char select - he made no reference to the fact that this was 3 chars vanished.
He left the billing help line - although surely if billing was the reason then there would be no access!
No success at this point - how much does that suck?
I'll suggest the file scan when he gets in from work ommy.

Is there a local folder that stores character information? If there is you could try deleting the contents to see if it refreshes it from the server.

Thanks for the suggestions guys - thought I'd just let you know he got them back today
Apparently it was a billing issue - must have been a screw up on their part cos there wasn't an issue with the c card. Needless to say he's happy bunny now
