Hi all,

I have decided to play with my tamer a little more and make him just as good if not better than DreamWeaver lol However i have a few probs with him at the moment can anyone help please?

Currently my template stands like this (numbers in brackets are current caps after powerscrolls been used)

Animal Lore 112.7 (115)

Animal Taming 89.1 with jewlery it is 107.1 (110 i will get a 120 when nr complete 110 with no jewlery)

Magery 100 (reached current cap)

Musicianship 110 (reached current cap)

Peacemaking 115 (reached current cap)

vet 114.1 (120)

I am currently at a loss on a few things though:(

Firstly i got a 4th year account so still a fair few points left to put somewhere, do i increase the 6 skills i already have or do i add another? - Maybe eval int or resist spells? or maybe provo? any other suggestions?

Also another prob i have is when fighting monsters etc either in doom or in dungeons i am having a hell of a time keeping my pet alive. My magery does not seem to be keeping pets healed quickly enough (not sure if i am not healing enough hit points with greater heal or what but it sux) and when i stand near to my pet to vet it everything seems to target me so i have to invis leaving my pet to take a hell of a beating! Any tips anyone pls?

Just need to get him going as i reckon he could be a nice char to take to dred etc and be a force within the guild hunts.

Thanks for all / any advice guys :)

I've not played a tamer so feel free to ignore me :)
I'm a huge fan of provocation and if you were to have that, you could prov the monsters onto each other and just let your pet attack them from behind without taking any damage.
However it would need to be high to provoke monsters like draggies n stuff so Im not sure what you would drop for it. I'm assuming peace is useful for taming. Do you need that high magery?

Her Royal Highness is a tamer, has the following template:
120 Music
120 Peace
110 Animal Lore
110 Magery
105ish Taming (rising, cap 120)
90 Vet
65 Meditation (falling a bit, balancing item)
Eval Int is on a soulstone so options there. Also bard has provoke or discord so she can use those if needed. Each bard skill is useful, but if your provo fails... you get attacked anyway.
Possibly worth saying "all kill" every so often just in case. I have not had any problem getting ganked, but there again princesses don't go dungeoneering that often :)

seems as if imon the right(ish) tracks then! guess i keep perservering lol! I will have some points left so a daft question but how high should provo or maybe discord be to make it effective / worthwhile having?

Peace is great for taming - peace the animal and then tame with less chance of it attacking you:) its my opinion but i would say it near essential for anyone that wants to tame their own rather than buying pets.

Magery i could drop but i guess that would add to the fizzling rate? hmmm so many decisions lol
