Hi guys

Just a quick question

My bro's computer has just got a virus which he wants me to clean. He is running McAfee and it picks up the virus as MsInit and says it can be cleaned, its infected the wininit file which is in use while windows runs so it cant clean it due to being in use!!. I just wandered if there was a way to run mcafee and clean it from Dos where the file wont be in use, other than that im just gonna delete the file and reinstall over the top windows again to replace said file.

Any help with that is much appreciated

Ta very much roch, all clean=). Before my dad cleaned it off his comp (its had the same one once before) but he aint here atm, hes off working so I had to do it. My dad manually deleted the whole file through dos then reinstalled windows, all i did was restart in safe mode and then mcafee cleaned the file=)

Should secure me a few free pints from my bro=)
