Well PvE was a breeze as a monk.
I've seen some good PvP monks about. Some VERY good ones.
I'm not one of them however.
I've rolled a PvP monk (Cranny Faddock) and am getting very gradually better.
I'm not going to say what I hate the most, since we have a GvG next Wednesday. I guess I have a week to improve.
It has to be the most challenging character to play imho.
You are the number one target and have to know how to look after yourself.
(What to cast, when to cast, energy management, positioning -> the works.)
Ironically my PvP Ra/Me is probably my PvP Mo/Ne 's worst nightmare. Runs all over the place out of healing range. That said my Ra/Me does take the view that he looks after HIMSELF and doesn't rely on the monk.
I guess as a monk I have to work out who is within my protection and who has chosen to go it alone, while taking an almighty whacking myself.
Timing seems to be critical with certain spells, as is energy management.
If I can work out how to suck up the pressure, then it leaves others (un-attacked) to do their stuff.
One CA team I was in had a player state 'We cannot win. We don't do enough concerted damage'. Flawless victory to us. But then I wasn't hammered.
Don't try a monk as your first PvP character! If you want a challenge, give it a go though
