*Ashbringer fall out of tirion�s hands, tirion is wounded*
*lich king moves ahead to kill tirion while the raid is kept busy holding off some adds*

Yogg-Saron: Seriously not necessary, K-Garn. I've got that whole thing under control. Check out the map. It says that's "The Shattered Walkway." It used to just be "The Walkway." Until I shattered it. No walkway, no progress. Pure effin' genius.

Yogg-Saron: Well, that's the point of a huge ravine. So I don't really need your help.

Yogg-Saron: Yeah, but the tauren can't get over the ravine anyway. And it will be extra funny, because they could totally get over the ravine if they could use their flying mounts, but flying mounts are disabled in Ulduar. That will make them crazy. See, that's what I do.

Kologarn: WITH MY OVERHEAD SMASH, I CAN MAKE THE EARTH SHAKE. MY FOCUSED EYEBEAMS TURN MY VERY RAGE INTO LAZERS.

Yogg-Saron: Okay, I guess if you really want a crack at them. But it's fine with me if you just want to knock off. What's your hard mode?

Yogg-Saron: Can you, like, buff yourself to do double damage, or have twice as much health or something?

and yes, ICC bosses so far are cool. we're having problems on rotface, because people cant manage the concept of 'yes, you have to do lots of damage, but get this... you also have to not die!' - most of them can only manage one of the 2 in a given attempt
festergut went down last night with 0.25 seconds to go according to all our timers, after 2 tries where we hit the enrage with 8mill and then 5mill remaining
blood prince council is pretty easy, but quite fun.
blood-queen looks to be hugely fun. only saw it briefly last night, but looking forwards to getting back there this week and murdering her. (think we'll go straight to blood wing, rather than bothering with plague wing at all... which is kinda a shame as i want the belt off festergut... oh well )

I've got mixed feelings a bout the Queen. Having burned close to 30 tries on her this week (10 and 25), it seems she's actually harder than she looks. Putricide looks hard, and is (9% best 25, 1-shot 10) but Queen looks simple, but isn't. The devil's in the details as usual.

Beams seem designed to merge over pits of fire. Fire comes out of nowhere and some how becomes invisible until it's just killed you. Run in too fast, or move wrong, and you get bloodlinked to the Maintank. Have to bite someone? Well i hope your dps is exactly right or that fear / Bloodbolt whirl is going to decimate you. 2 peopel linked? best get away form them as healers are focussing on them, not you, and you are about to eat some AOE. These are just the things i can think of that kill you to begin with.

All in all - fun. 10m reset night - going to persuade people to go straight for BQL.

Also what happened to Aion? It was the next bigtime 6 months ago, now I can't even find one thread about it - abit sucky?

like most MMO's now, launched before it was ready, which means it's interest arc goes something like

very pretty, and fun for the first 25 or so levels.
at that point you get to go into the pvp zones (ie. have to because they're the only places you can level), and spend your life getting ganked by people 20-30 levels above you that can kill you in 2 hits, and on the rare occasions that your alive, you pretty much spend your whole time grinding, as questlines just kinda fizzle out.

I played it a few weeks in Jan/Feb and the 3 new dungeons (forge of souls, pit of something and another) were pretty fun and at least somewhat challenging (by Lich King standards anyway ). But there is only so many times you can sleepwalk badge loot though Gundrak, Halls of Stone, Drak etc before the urge to cancel again kicked in!

Yeah I have to keep half an eye open in HoR

Looking forward to Cataclysm though, provided they do what they're implying and make the game more a tactical challenge than a "OMG we have to do 10K dps each over 3 mins or we get eaten!" fest.

see, on the one hand i'd quite like that.... on the other, with most of the dps monkeys i have to deal with, just getting them to dps is hard, getting them to do anything complicated is fking impossible, i dont want an entire expansion of that! gief tank n spanks, where only the tank has to do anything complicated.
