Yup, you only need to group when you do a BIG quest, and you can bypass those if you don't feel like grouping.
You can ususally find someone to do an instance with you by just asking if anyone wants to do it in general chat, IF there are no clan folks about (and I think Corwin is stapled to the computer so he's ALWAYS around
)
