The new album is so much better than the debut (never heard the second one). They no longer sound like another 'britrock' clone from the early 90's and now sound more like soundthing from the 60's or 70's. Still not amazingly original, but much better than before.

i wasnt keen on 2nd one (EMPIRE) bar for a couple of tracks.

new one is v good though!
defo 60s sounds mixed in there though not as a divergence from their original sound as i had feared.

they're awesome live, though they do suffer from the same cocky-cocaine-swagger as oasis

Had the chance to see them at Brighton 'The Great Escape' they were the closing it, but didn't bother because I wasn't a big fan, wish i'd gone now!

The new album definately reminds me of recent (the last 2 albums) 'My Morning Jacket'.

Chris loves them, heard other two albums and went " so what?". Was really surprised by the new one and find it very listenable to.

I never got into the first album at all, I ended up getting rid of it after a while always found it fairly bland pubrock (Oasis, Doves, Brakes and other boring crap) with a hint of Primal Scream.
This new album has so much more going for it loving 'Where did all the love go' and 'thick as thieves'. However 'Vlad the Impaler' is a huge dollop of suck though!
