I'm playing under the name 'Soupy'. I mostly play as Supports these days.
The community can be alittle childish as it's a free to play game, but you will learn how to play the game as you level up, the roles and positions of the champions. If you are thinking of trying it download it and give it a whirl it's completely free to play.

it's worth it, but it's a struggle while you're learning just because people call you a n00b for not knowing the game; people have zero tolerance for people who are still learning. Although I found it better to be frank: people told me I was a n00b for XYZ reason, so I responded "Yeah, I am. This is my second game" and people actually started offering advice; best lane for my class, etc.

i play - names Tieger i think. normally on most nights, but been playing me3 recently.
now then. are you playing real 5v5, matchmade, pvp games? because in those, it'll match you with people your Level and ELO (skill level). so at low levels, the people you'll play against will be similar people (barring a few people on twinks ofc... but the cost to unlock chars/skins tends to discourage twinking), and as such should be quite forgiving.
dont make the mistake a freind of mine did, and level up to like level 10+ on bot games, then try to do pvp and find you havnt a clue how to play with people
and in terms of people being cocks... bring up the score sheet, and click the speech bubble on the right of their scorebar. fixed!
i have a low level char i can use to play with you folks too since your not 30 yet.
