I've been getting the itch to return to League of Legends after several months away. I kindoff reached my limit I felt as a solo player last time, and if I go back I think i'd be much more fun to go back with a group. So I thought I'd throw it only here to anyone interested in creating a team. I play for fun, so I'm not bothered if you've never played before or not - if you fancy trying it out it's completely free to play...

I'm thinking of returning after Christmas is out the way and i'll probably start a new account at level 1 - so if anyone is interested let me know..

Yeah I'm still playing - my advice to someone new would be save as much IP as you can while levelling up. Pick up a few cheap champions and use the 10 free champions they rotate each week. When your account hits 30 (well actually 21) you'll want to spend the IP you've saved on Rune Pages and Runes (Don't bother buying any runes before 21 - as you can only use tier 3 runes (top tier runes) at 21.

I'd recommend picking up the following cheap champions which will cover you basic needs without breaking the bank..

Annie - AP Mage - 450IP

Ashe or Sivir - AD Carry - both 450IP.

Garen - Tanky Top laner - 450IP

Nunu or Warwick - Jungler - 450IP (although you don't see many junglers while levelling up as you tend to need runes/masteries to survive the jungle - However Nunu and Warwick can jungle without either..)

Taric or Janna - Support - Both 1350IP (You can pickup Soraka for 450IP but she's not in a good place right now).

Those will offer you a champion in each position in the current meta and they all remain strong picks in ranked play when you reach 30.

Oh and a bonus tip : Don't be a Teemo player, just don't go there, ever!

I'd say you'll need to spend about 40,000 IP to get a solid set of runes and additional 3 rune pages - and it's more fun to have this ready when you hit level 30 - because as soon as you hit level 30 you'll be playing other level 30 players and if you don't have runes sorted out you'll struggle. Of course if your willing to throw real money at the game you can bypass any of this advice. But by choosing champs carefully and spending your IP wisely while levelling you can easily play this game without throwing a penny at it.

I'd say don't buy Miss Forture - she's a decent AD Carry but not one of the very best, you can pick up Ashe and Sivir both for 450IP (Miss Fortune is 3150IP) and they are both currently better - in fact Sivir has just had a remake and is extremely powerful right now and Ashe will always be a strong champion because her Ultimate is amazing.

I tried Dota 2 a few months ago - It looked great, but I didn't have the patience to learn the game from scratch, so I've stuck to Legends.

Well after 6 months of playing I am still enjoying it, but to be honest I have never met such a group of nasty POS in gaming ever. It is usually not aimed at me thank goodness ( even though I have had it once or twice ) . It is a shame that a game this good has such a shitty player base.

This game has also cost me a damn fortune

Yeah the player base can be pretty immature to say the least, I can cope with the odd bit of flaming and general nastiness in the chat that generally happens. It's the players who go out to ruin the game that annoy me, the guys who just feed on purpose or go afk - matches that have that happen are just a complete waste of 20 minutes.

Got two accounts now at 30 and still haven't paid a penny! Skins don't interest me and I can always get what I need though IP - infact my oldest account now have something like 50,000 IP on it! Obvisously I don't own every champ in the game, but I have a pool of champs I'm decent on (and some I can't play for toffee, hi thresh!). I play mostly Support and jungle thesedays.

My favourite is Zac, mainly because elastic slingshot is the most fun ability in the game. Also his voice lines are amazing.

I like Volibear too - he's extremely safe. Just stack defensive items and he will still do good damage.

Sejuani - An obsolute late game beast. Just have to suffer a weak early game and slow clear speed. Her Ulti is a complete game changer in team fights!

Wukong - If I want to try and carry out of the jungle I go with Wu - get a few early ganks and he'll destroy the midgame. Even if it goes wrong and you end up underfed his Ulti is still very useful in teamfights.

Used to love Skarner too - but his recent changes seem to have weakened him. Been trying Noc a lot recently, it tends to either go really well or totally crap. Xin and Nunu still get the odd game too, they were my first junglers champs (used to play an AP Xin jungle - insane regen!).

As you can see I stick to simple champions! Can't be doing with complex champs like Lee Sin or Elise.
