As part of the Tier0.5 set I needed to kill Lord Valathalak. With the help of the following people it was a succesful night...

If you are interested here's the highlights...
We apparently killed the Warlocks holding Emberseer in place too quickly. As such Emberseer never 'released', and we had to restart the instance
Onto Lord Valthalak, we got wiped twice before killing him, the first time was due to the Spectral Assasins which got hold of our tank at one point, took him out, and from that point onwards was a slippery slope downwards.
The second wipe was entirely my fault, upon res'ing one of our party got slightly too close to Lord Valthalak, luckily only that person was targeted (so as long as we didn't agro him we would be fine)...at which point I cast Arcane Brilliance on the party, and we were then all classes as hostile
The third and final time went very smoothly, the group reduced Lord Valthalaks mana, and as the Spectral Assasins spawned took them out as a priority. After that it was easy
If anyone wants to take on Lord Valthalak (for any loot he drops), or just to see what he's like, again I can now summon him everytime now. (one of the quest items). Bu beware, apparently he is the hardest 10 man monster in the game (apparently).
I am now the proud owner of the entire Sorcerers set
