Luxon or Kurzick?

I think you can switch between either as an individual, but Guilds are aligned one way or the other.

Personally up to Arborstone mission, and its the first place merchants have not talked to me because I don't have enough (Kurzick) faction. I expect I will find more about this soon in game.

Which way have Althorn's guild gone?

Personally, I favour Luxon because there are some uber tosspots on the Kurzick side (BlackBlade) denying entry to the elite missions, or so I have read. Not that I'm likely to ever do an elite mission either way.

My guild have gone for the interesting choice of not choosing

From what I can gather, there is apersonal (account) choice, and a guild choice, and they don't have to tie up.

I have it a bit easyer, as I'm a glutton for punishment and got to 10k faction on one of my accounts during the faction preview weekend, so I've decided to go the other way with my other account.

That way I get to experiance both sides of the coin.

As for elite missions I doubt any in either our or cuk guild have to worry about them.


As I understand it, guild spending time on one faction or the other is only relevent if you have oodles of members that can spend oodles of faction actually doing somthing ... which isn't us ... *shurg* not going to worry abotu it then.

I seem to have got 500 Kurzick faction already. Arborstone mision? (Which by the way we got the Master reward for - 3 skill points!!! - Playing a Life Bonding/Infuse monk). And now the game has lead me to a Luxon mission which supposedly I will get faction for too.

Now I have heard that if you spend faction in one area, you lose the same amount you had for the other side as well. So the game leads you to waste faction. (OK so it isn't useful in a non aligned Guild anyway). I suppose its one of those learning moments which ultimately doesn't matter.

TBH the only use "we" have for faction I can see is getting Jadeite or the other rare resource I can't remember to make the 15k faction specific armour.

Apart from that for us ikkle guys I can't see any use for it, pity, was hoping to "spend" it on sommat like the balth faction.

Trying to get my first toon into House zu Helizerty atm ...
