99p bargain

Magician remains one of my all time fav books.

Product Description
Discover the fate of the original black Magician, Pug, as prophecy becomes truth in the last book of the Riftwar Cycle.

THE FINAL VOLUME IN THE EPIC RIFTWAR CYCLE.

The dragons are calling

Civil war is tearing apart the Kingdom of the Isles, for the throne lies empty and rivals are converging. Having spirited his beloved Princess Stephan safely out of Roldem, Hal now Duke of Crydee must turn his attention to the defence of the ancient realm so that a king can be anointed by the Congress of Lords, rather than by right of might.

But the greatest threat may well lie out of the hands of men. Somewhere in the Grey Towers Mountains something not of this world is emerging. It will require that alliances be made between mortal enemies if disaster is to be averted.

Elves and men must stand together, ancient heroes must rise again, dragons must fly and Pug, Magnus and the other magic-users of Midkemia must be prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice if the whole world is to be saved.

Just noticed that this book is linked to 2 more before, so not sure if it will make sense?

I thought it might carry on more from Magician, A Darkness at Sethanon and Siverthorn...no idea.

Has anyone read it?

Big Raymond feist fan myself and always enjoyed his books.

His website does host a variety of reading orders, each one has Magician End at the end of the series.
I wish some tv company would do at least the Riftwar Saga as a TV series like Games of Thrones, it would work really well.

Chronological Reading Order

The following list shows the order the books as chronologically as possible, this is not a recomended order in which the books should be read, as to do it properly you need to jump from one book to another. We also include the working titles of future books

Ahh does it sound like you can read it if you have read the first 3 then and it will make enough sense?

No, not at all IMO.
There's loads in between (2 more riftwars, for a start :p). Don't see any point in skipping to the end really.

Swither, that's possibly the best advice anyone could give. Read them all, you'll not be disappointed mate.

Hmm, sure I played those and recall NPC's running off randomly on Return to Krondor and getting me killed constantly.

Strange innit? didn't like the books at all (Well, only read Wizards first rule but gave up 3/4 way through), yet loved the TV show.

Cull....wrong books & Author m8 :D

Magician was written by Raymond E Feist. Wizards First Rule by Terry Goodkind....and what 5 mins I saw of the show was awful typical american crap.

They did make these into a comic book series - not sure how far they got mind and I've no interest in reading them as I don't want anyone else's interpretation of Magician getting in the way of my own mental images.

I really enjoyed the first few trilogies. The first two Riftwars and the standalone books set during the time of Arutha and Jimmy the Hand are really exceptional. And the Kelewan trilogy was really great, too. However, I could barely tolerate the books featuring Talon of the Hawk and stopped reading shortly after. I am not sure I want to read Magicians end.

I haven't really enjoyed them since shards of a broken crown - mostly because it got rid of the single best character.
