I have the prothean squad mate too who reveals loads about the history of the races in general gameplay.

i found him quite disapointing really - its entertaining the first few times to hear him refer to how primitive these races were when he used to know them... but its just a bit repetitive.

Just finished it, thought it was an awesome game. Some people are complaining about the ending, but I didn't mind it to much, I won't go into details...

The ending is going to be changed though because of the internets complaints...

ending spoilers ahead!

its really NOT because of the internet complaints.... fairly obvious imo that its not, uh, real.
plenty of stuff on the nets about the indoctrination theory, but i really dont see how it could be anything else. too much stuff pointing to it - even having deliberately not read anything about it in advance, i was watching it from when the beam hit me thinking 'this isnt right.' - and its not, the whole thing from that point onward is just a bit wrong.
so i went for the 'kill everything' option... which is presented as being the worst option... then, think of the alternatives - control, which is what the illusive man (who if he's really on the citadel, is definitely indoctrinated) has wanted all along, and synthesis - which basically is exactly what reapers already are. dont think i want either of those 2 :p

and then at the end of seeing lots of things die... what do we get... ah. we see shepard regaining consciousness on the blackened street in london - presumably having fought off the indoctrination.

the only real question, in my mind, is how long have you been being influenced for.
arguably, you've been affected since the start of this game. have a read of the Codex entry on indoctrination, and see how it matches up to the dreams and such. my main concern is that any ending they put on as dlc wont actually be awesome enough to suit the setup theyve given it.

course, i could be wrong, but meh. if i am then they've just done the entire ending *really* badly, as theres a lot of inconsistancy in it, that would be neatly explained by indoctrination :p

They should have ended it with 2 people sat down. you will know what I mean if you have finished it.

For those that like the multiplayer there is some free DLC coming on the 10th, new classes and weapons and 2 new maps.

Awesome, perfect timing, just completed it and been disappointed by the endings as they are. :p

Really enjoyed the games all the way from ME1, just the ending of 3 didn't do it justice at all.

I think some fans have come up with very complex reasons to explain that bioware dropped the ball and just wrote a really shite ending to a massive trilogy :)

its not that its a shite ending so much... its that its *such* a weird ending, with odd things happening in it, that its hard to believe that its not on purpose.

I guess only Bioware know for sure, I'd prefer to believe they wrote a clever good ending than a stupid bad one though :)

They wrote a stupid bad ending. The theory is fine, but then you need to look at all the other stupid plot points, the ship suddenly buggering off leaving Shepherd behind, except it's got squad members on it that were with you on the surface, the stupid blowing up of the mass relays, in every outcome, the ship crashing in every outcome, the massive fleet of alien ships being stuck in orbit around Earth without the mass relay, it's just all too badly thought out to suggest that someone was trying to cover up a really clever plot :)

So why put them in to all 3 endings? And why would you assume that what you're seeing is Shepherds hallucination, he dies in each case, the only one he doesn't die in is if you've got enough points to see the N7 charcoal brickette take a breath.

If it's all a halucination from the blast onwards then he's a charcoal brickette and the reapers are still there killing the shit out of everyone because he only had a dream about blowing them up. Meh, the ending was shite, and they weren't expecting everyone to hate it so much. Now people are trying to find a hidden meaning in a crappy script, as the internet does.
