Monday is Guild Night

Lo All :)

Just a reminder that Monday's our special group hug night. This Monday, it's Remember the Searing day. It's important not to hold grudges, therefore, we've decided to take peace offerings of flowers to the Charr outside the ruins of Ascalon. After all, the Charr have feelings, too, bless their little furry hearts.

Or we could just beat the sh*t out of them, as usual.

From 7pm.

Just make sure you're post-Searing, and we can do something. So far, it's a social thing. I've still got quests out of Ascalon to do with my main, nevermind my three cutsie alts :)

The other possibility is to take your main thru missions completing the bonus or unfinished quests. Whatever works :)

Post-searing = out of the starting area (leafy Ascalon).
I.E. Having done the quest with no return from Sir Tydius (PvP & PvE), where the story advances 2 years and you are in the desert-like (seared/burnt) Ascalon region.

You could be as little as level 4, although it is worth getting at least some skills for your primary and secondary class. Level 6 is a good time to advance to post searing.

It can take ages to do all the skill quests, but it can save some skill points. Not that I've felt pressured on them yet. However, as said earlier, I suspect when we come to try different pvp strategies, some of those dubious-looking skills will start becoming must-haves.

Ah....Did that a bit early then. Nevermind...I'm level 6 heading to level 7 now.

There's always alts. Rhyn and I spent ages exploring the newb catacombs (which are massive!) last week. It's probably a good idea not getting totally sick of it.

I'll be there of course. 7PM

I might just try Elona Reach with henchmen only for a laugh beforehand.

Tried a couple of times today (and failed) with a 5 ranger + Aleisa and then a 6 ranger team. We really should have been quite useful, but some teams just seem to draw in more mobs rather than being stealthy and then it all goes pear shaped. I've been in a 4 ranger team + warrior + monk before and that worked surprisingly well.

Think I did Elona with everyone present having R somewhere there, but most were /R like me. I'm not surprised it's a popular secondary.

I actually think Elona is soloable if you take your time. The snag is that you can't take your time for the second part as it's timed.

Top tip: take barbed trap or another method to slow pursuing mobs as the best way to get the last shard in and complete the mission is to leggit.

There's a tonne of skills on offer from the bosses, too. Throw Dirt is one of them, which you might well like.

Well its 8:50 and I've been bumped out of the game. I can't get back in at all.
Was just about to finish mission :-((( Rhyn was disconnected earlier so this was the second attempt. Grr. Whether this is because we were playing on the international zone I couldn't say. Never had this happen before.

Some websites are coming up OK, and others aren't. There appears to be a disturbance in the force.

Glad you eventually got back on ~ sorry we'd given up on you :)

We managed to complete the second mission with Rhyn & Summer -- after a disaster right before the end the first time out!

I'll be there of course.
If there are 5 of us playing low lvl chars, we'll have to split the group again, since we can only have teams of up to 4 up until Yaks Bend.

Think I'll play my necro, like I did last night. I have no idea what to do with him really. I'll have to see how he develps.

Woah but that was a long mission we did last night! (Borlis Pass -> Frost Gate)

May I suggest that on Monday Nights we primarily do missions?

We can do the side quests in smaller groups or separately during the week.
(In this case go back to Yak's Bend.)

It is very difficult for any group to decide which quest is best to do next, at the best of times, and it can end up taking up a lot of time horse-trading.

There will however always be missions to do, and they are common to us all.

Just a thought.

Just another reminder that this is still going & we'll be there tomorrow night (Monday 18 Jul)

From 7pm.

The only real reason we did some Yak's Bend quests was because we had to progress to the next mission shield & because I didn't want Faith to miss the new Monk buff as it made such a big difference to my Monk.

We are probably playing a bit too hard on Monday nights. I'm finding them quite exhausting. I normally play GW for a couple of hrs at a time.

So maybe we should do a mission and then let those that want to stay on do some questing (or missions with other characters).

Yup. Last week was a mega-session. I couldn't believe how long the mission was.

Two hours might be a better time limit.
I can't go straight to bed after a session. I like about 30 minutes to 'come down'.

Well we will have no option but to do a mission on Monday.

I suppose the important thing is to end the session by saying where people should be up to the following week, which might be the same place, but
class specific quests done.
