New monitor

I'm still using a Dell 2405FPW, and thought it was about time I got a new monitor with a better response time, as I'm really noticing ghosting while playing Planetside 2.

I would like an IPS panel with 120Hz, and 1920x1200 or higher, only problem don't know when that's happening as you can only get 120Hz on TN panels atm.

I like the Dell monitors because you get that extra depth. I'm fed up with monitor manufacturers using the TV 1080 standard.

I quiet like the look of this Dell UltraSharp U2913WM Its 21:9 ratio which is the same as a cinema screen, so I wont get any black bars if watching a film, but having wide angle for games would be great, get that multi-monitor feel without the bezel in the way.

Main downside is its using 2560x1080, so ill loose that extra height I'm use too. Plus response time isn't as low although its lower than my current monitor, and doesn't have 120Hz

So should I go for this, or perhaps wait? What do you guys think?

I'm fairly sure with IPS panels you cannot completely eliminate the ghosting, hence why 120mhz is only available on TN panels.

I'll have a look round if I get chance, but I'm not 100% sure you can get what you're asking for, at least for much less than �1000.

iirc the ghosting is not due to the response time, as the response time is measured for colours going from black to white, or something like that, but not the other way around. Most ghosting looks grey or slightly purple due to certain colours not going away once the signal has stopped.

At least this was how I understood it, I could be completely wrong however
