New Season

Workmanlike from Man U. Spectacular from Arsenal, although awful from Everton. Man City were by no means the better team but had the better of the two goalkeepers. Chelsea didn't play brilliantly but Hull did their usual put 11 men behind the ball which is difficult to break down at times.

Liverpool, well...... that was pretty damn shabby. Do they miss Alonso? On the basis of that, yep. Big time. They can whinge about a missed penalty but they were comprehensively owned in midfield all game.

Hammers off to a good start with a win against Wolves which could have been a potential banana skin.

We'll never win the league with Benitez in charge. He's got no real back up in central defence (Carragher has been great but he was exposed a lot last season and is coming to the end of his usefulness I think). Ayala, the sub, was pretty awful in the Youth Cup final last year. Picking Babel over Yossi was a poor decision as his attitude stinks. He should have been the first out the door with Lucas not far behind. They have got too many injuries and the squad is too weak in depth. He's not prepared to blood the kids in and he's now beginning to pay the price. He should keep his trap shut, saying he always gets a hard opening game (few on paper are harder than Everton away) and he whinges about possible penalties which not only alienates him and the team from the neutral but annoys the fans also.

The Arse looked good, although I don't think they will challenge in the long run. Everton undoubtedly unsettled by Cit, they were awful - but who cares :). United and Chelski just about did enough in home bankers and I would expect it to be between those 2 again. Spurs will be no easy game for anyone, but I think Villa will struggle with their small squad.

Har. Anything that pisses that utter cunt Warnock off is alright by me. He's a revolting individual. Him and Simon Jordan are made for each other.

I'm still not sure why Liverpool fans rate Benitez. He has consistently failed to mount a serious title challenge, doesn't bring players through the youth team and buys second rate players that then disappear never to be heard of again. They came second last season but it was hardly like they were breathing down Uniteds neck.

Nothing wrong with Warnock. Simon Jordan however is an utter slimy creep, easily the most hateful chairman in English Football (and that includes Santa at Leeds!) he was on Sky Sports News this morning trying to play the good guy saying if his team 'conceded' a phantom goal he'd demand the ref allowed it and or allow a rematch - Funny I don't recall this attitude when Andy Johnson spent practically all season diving in the oppositions penalty box when Palace were last in the Prem.

Nothing wrong with Warnock?

Apart from all his general whining, bitching and moaning especially when Sheffield United went down.

"Oh its not my fault, its that Tevez bloke".

Fuck off mate, if your side had played better football and won your last game of the season you would have stayed up".

Bad loser and a whining cunt. Then he follows that up by thinking about sueing West Ham for his "loss of wages" along with some of his whining underperforming bitches of players.

Hmm well that's one way of looking at it as a bias Chav Ham fan, if you take you head out of your Eastend for a minute you'll see there was some injustice in the situation of one club 'gifted' two players worth (in todays market) upwards of 50 million, in one of the most dodgy 'transfers' ever :p
I'm sure if Sheff Utd had both those players that season they would have stayed up, for instance.

Everton were shit but a lot of that was down to us making them look shit. Granted the two set pieces were down to pathetic defending and Cesc ran 45 yards unchallenged but most of the Everton team was in our final third attacking and Afro-man was busting a gut to try and get back.

We still played them off the park though.

Warnock's a twat but he's entertaining after a fashion. I can see that some paperwork rules were broken but it's not like West Ham fielded 12 players, bribed the ref or were awarded a goal that wasn't one. Sheffield Utd are a crap team and offer little in the way of entertainment anyway so they can fook off tbh.

Liverpool should have had 2 penalties but claiming a third for the ball hitting someone's arm when said arm is across their chest is taking the piss. You can whine about poor decisions and you might have a point but when your team plays like stale wank for the best part of 90 mins, you're not going to get much sympathy.

lets face it, if you can't create chances against Spurs defense then you really are shite. The Bin Dippers were just lucky that Spurs don't have an attack either.

The Premier League decided not to dock us points, so they were also hugely culpable in that situation. Why we ended up footing the bill and dealing with all Warnocks whining is also an injustice given the afore mentioned ruling by the PL. The fact it ended up going to the European Court was ridiculous and sets a stupid precedent. It was a ridiculous situation and Richard Scudamore should have lost his job over it. Oh, and Dave Whelan can fuck off as well, sticking his fucking oar in whenever he felt like it. He's another annoying twat.

FYI we didn't use Mascherano. Dunno why, just didn't. We preferred Hayden Mullins that season... only Alan Pardew knows why :O

Didn't you spend most of last year berating Rafa for not giving youth a chance ? Thought Ayala was fine when he came on. No way he should be on our bench though, I agree.

Not much Rafa can do when he has 30mill of transfer funds taken away from him, by the owners, half way through the transfer window. We've brought in more money through sales than we've spent, since we bought Mascherano.

LFC are totally and utterly fucked under the Americans. every single penny we earn goes on paying off interest on the loans plus they now have to reduce the loans. The numbers don't add up. The only way is down.

edit : forgot to congratulate Spurs; they played well.

Don't Liverpool still have the biggest squad in the League with well over 50 Pro's?

Not sure if you are serious ?

That was a widely reported 'bullshit' story. The number reported included our so called 'reserve' team and large parts of our youth set up, none of which ever see first team action. Last year there was only one team with a smaller squad than ours and who used less players than us in first team action (think it was Villa, off the top of my head). Over the summer we sold four or five players and brought in two. Rafa was only told he was losing his transfer fund very late on.

Our bench on Sunday included Spearing and two youth players. Our squad is paper thin. we have a strong first eleven and maybe three or four players who are fit to be squad players. As soon as we have injuries we are in trouble.

From what I can see.........

The Scousers have the awesome Nando and Stevie "It's self defence because he looked at me funny so I twatted him first, m'lud" G love fest. Pep le Pew is a good keeper, BennyandJoon is good (when he's not warming the bench), Marscapone is OK and so's Dirk Diggler.

But are the rest of their squad actually any good?

Jack Hobbs 2 games, 2 man of the matches!
WOuld never have got a game at Liverpool anyway and if he did Caregher would probably clumsily deck him.

As of tonight, lost all respect for Arsenal. Celtic were not good by any manner of means, but 2 flukey goals, one from a free kick awarded for a dive, and 3 hand balls, of which only one was picked up on. No free flowing football, just dive and break, not impressed

At least when Liverpool and Barca come here, they play football.

Mowbray said that we gave Celtic a lesson on and off the ball and the Celtic Captain said the better team won, regardless of how the goals went in.

Some of the tackling, especially on Fabregas, was way over the top so I suppose the dirtyness of Celtic evens out the so called diving.

Fact is that we didn't play that well and still gave what would be a bottom tier PL side "A Lesson" and should have scored a couple more.

I was pretty unimpressed with the amazing Celtic Park atmosphere tbh. Seems to mainly consist of whinging and screaming at the least little thing and singing You'll Never Walk Alone when things go tits up.
