Just as i looted my PC went bang and let off a nast smell. As far as i can tell the PSU has gone... or somehow has been reduced to well under effecient working. Lights flicker, no power to FX card, then everything flickers and dies whilst theres a nasty electrical smell coming from the PSU.

going to see if i can get a new one tomorrow morning from PC World otherwise im pretty much stuck until i order and it arrives.

IF its not the PSU then im probably looking at a new pc

well it would be except the main components are a new PC... which i have yet to pay for. So if i've lost the CPU etc im screwed.

Definately looks like the hyper has gone boom though. Will get a new one tomorrow see if it fixes the problem.

Unlucky. Seems to be the season for PC's dying.

We ran past the traps so no loss on the traps.

Just hope all the other components are ok Zed .. think the mobo went with the PSU when this happened to me in the past (the PSU 20 pin connector block being melted to the board socket was not a good sign)
