I am aware that it might be months before anyone answers ;) but my old pc is falling over and its time to look for a new one. Not a clue what specs are all about now, anyone any advice?

I'd like it to play some of the new games coming out ( especially the space one) and be ok for watching films etc and processing my pictures from the camera. I'll have around 600 quid to spend.

I think a lot of the smaller pc builders have been pushed out by the larger companies.

Personally I'd check out Dell's web pages and then go from there.

I bought a gaming rig from Chillblast and I'm happy with it. Other contenders were PC Specialist & overclockers.

Btone: I think the only usable bit from the old rig is the sata hard drive I put in last year. The rest is pretty ancient and/or rubbish.

Aciiid and Swith: Yeah I am going to look about, not sure ewhat sort of graphics cards etc are available/worth paying for these days.

Mate next door reckons he used to work in building pcs, not sure I trust him enough to build one from scratch though.

The one I have now is six or seven years old. The Clips holding the big heat sink and fan rig have all broken off so at the minute its on its side with the heatsink standing over it not clipped in and the side off. It seems to be running at 50 - 53 degrees, which is ok for now but mate reckons that the chip will just fry eventually. Rapidly trying to sell shit on ebay to raise some cash before it breaks for good.
