Opinions regarding expansion?

So far, I have not really been able to play for more than 30 mins at a time with the server constantly up and down. I tried out the Pally and thought it was spectacularly not fun. But then, I have thought for a while that the Pally was not fun, which is why I switched to the Troubador. ;-)

Changes for the Troub sound good so far, if nothing bad happens at work today, I should be able to give him a shakedown run this evening to see how he works out. On paper I like the changes, I just have to see how they play.

I have yet to set foot into DoF proper, though. But I am already looking for people able to craft T6 Armour and Weapons and that can craft Spells for Pallies and Troubadors. If anybody can reccomend a crafter for either, I would appreciate it. :)

Are you kidding Dara??
I've been beside myself with glee at my newfound stuns and knockbacks, watching mobs fall on their arses is doing me the world of good. Also our wards are now fantastic (until they nerf them).

Overall I have heard that the Pally is very effetive in PvP too due to the stuns, wards and heals, haven't tried it yet though. Been soloing up to 48^s with relative ease and we've been trying some of the new 52 epicx2 mobs with much butt-kicking handed to us, but its mostly been a voyage of discovery.

I'm enjoying exploring my 'new' character, less so enthused about DoF as its not terribly solo friendly but it all could change so who knows.

Well, most of the complaints I have heard have been from people in the 30s while everybody in the 45+ area seems to love the changes. I fall into the same category. I really did not enjoy my Paladin (36) anymore and thought he was boring. I really enjoy the changes to my Troubador (47) though. /shrug

Been playing the Troub for about 3 hours today in an exp group and we were darn good and I had good fun. :) I have not yet been in DoF, but I imagine I will take a look around this weekend.

Further update: Duoed a bit with my Pally and a Coercer pal yesterday and while it still was not fun, I think I could get used to it. The damage I take in normal stance is depressing and so is the damage output. Switching to offensive stance solved one of the complaints I had. ;) Liberal useage of Wards solved the second.

The stuns themselves don't seem to do much for me. 1.5 seconds on one, 3 seconds on the other, way long recast times, woohoo... The CAs without the stun components don't seem worth the bother and power. And I get interrupted a lot casting those wards. So while I am not overly happy with the changes to the Paladin, I can live with them, I think.

As far as duels go, my 36 Pally duelled my Level 38 Coercer friend twice and won both times. The first time, Wards, Heals, self heal and LoH won the day while his HP ran out eventually. The second time, I was close to dead but in melee range and he stepped out of the duel zone somehow (which is invis), or so it seemed like and was thus considered to have surrendered. :D

I need to retire from PvP now, since I should quit while I am still ahead. ;)

Just an indication of how the changes have really affected some chars more than others I PvP'd a 50 wizzie the other day.

Hardly any roots landed, those that did got broken almost straight away while my stuns and interrupts and the ward helped stave off the ice comet and other nasty attacks and in the end beat him with 25% health gone.

One word of caution for the die-hard PvPers, currently other people can interfere in the duel, if your partner is in a group they will still receive the buffs etc from being in the group and other people can heal and ward so if you are going to take it seriously as a 1-1 battle bear this in mind.
