Okay, walked around in the hanger and played a bit of arena commander against bots which is all that's available on the freebie.
Flight model feels a little arcadey. Imagine I'd get used to it. Was also experiencing a lot of rubber banding when turning though which may have been contributing to this.
Visually looks very nice and framerate is very smooth with graphics set to highest they'll go though it doesn't let you change options, just low, medium, high etc so not sure what it's actually running!
Sounds could do with a bit of work, nothing to write home about at the mo.
In the hanger I was able to get into the ship and get into the pilot seat, access the arena commander interface and then load into that module, no seamless transitions into space, couldn't launch from the hanger into the game mode which is a shame.
Alternatively I could go into the back of the ship which consisted of a capsule hotel style coffin bed and look at the ceiling till I got bored.
What I've seen looks promising but they've got a long way to go before it's a game. They seem to be putting a lot of effort into making things very detailed with the hanger and ship interiors. Be nice if they'd stop worrying about making up alien languages though and get the game in!
