popups in IE

I am running windows 98. In the last hour a popup window is opening up whenever I open IE. Adaware cant find anything. I have manually searched for stuff on the comp and cant find anything out of the ordinary. I have tried emptying the temp internet files and that didn't stop it so I'm stumped. The window that opens up flashes the name adfarm.multiplex before opening a window that seems to be an e-bay search. Anyone got a clue as to how to get rid of this?
TIA

Just updated to the latest version of adaware and tried another scan. It found 47 new "objects" seemed all to be cookies. I phoned blueyonder to see if they have started using pop-up adds and the answer was no - strange thing is, if I set my homepage to google or Clan UK - surprise surprise no pop ups!

One is not Amused
Stick SpyBot on aswell matey see what happens.
If you run both that and adaware, there is usually a couple that they get on their own, that the other doesnt get.

Astalavista.com is a nasty site full of virus's and spyware, it's also montored (sp?) by the FBI.

I finaly got BY to admit that they are now alowing advertising pop-ups on their website. I have lodged a complaint ( for all the good it will do) about paying them 25 quid a month to wade through adverts I dont want to see and have set me homepage to CUK :D
