[RA]Turn 10 - Into the lair

As the roof of the Crypt begins to fall Gilead springs into action - Pushing the others towards the hole as he heads that way himself. Helena slides down the ladder, her armour and shie clanking somewhat on the sides of the hole as she does so.

The shaft extends 30ft downwards below the floor level of the mausoleum to a dirt floor. Bloodstains are visible on the walls including a seemingly fresh hand print. The light from the glow stick sows an easterly running passageway which you begin to head along cautiously. Eventually you come to a dead end with an obvious 10ft deep by 5ft X 5ft pit. A rope has been pegged into the floor and hangs down over and into the pit..

What do you do?

Things had not gone well for you over he past few days. Your cleric was the first to fall - viscously to that strange creature that seemed to not die(not to mention the smell!!)

the room the three of you had managed to secure contained an empty coffin. You knew it was empty (and could breathe a sigh of releif) because the lid was gone. A cave in blocks the passage to the north East and your way back into the dungeon lies to the south West. Fully rested you begin to plan your reconquest of this this place .. hopefully finding your comrades alive...

[OOC little basic but the premise is you entered about 3 days ago, with a group of 6 - however one by one your fellow comrades fell or vanished as you explored the first level or two of the dungeon. Fleeing to a relatively safe location you spent the past 24 hours resting and relearning spells - Merly - let me know what spells you have prepared for the day .. and let me know your actions]

*Will try to take scent of the empty coffin one last time and then once the decision to keep moving is decided and after nodding in agreement Olomair will proceed down the available empty passage... Treading softly as to keep his senses sharp*

How well was this room decorated Zed? And are there any light sources nearby?

Light sources are purely what you folks have with you...

One thing to note about down here as well..

it stinks ... it stinks bad. It smells worse than the poor areas of some cities you have been in where the poor people dont have sewers!!!

Lady Helena Atrades shivers in the cold and darkened room, every clank from her armour seeming to echo noisily. She unslings her shield, bearing it on her arm, and draws forth her magical longsword. As the blade leaves the scabbard it glows with a soft white radiance, banishing the gloom around her and rekindling some feelings of hope.

She concentrates for a few moments, turning around and trying to pierce the darkness ahead in all directions. After a few moments she turns to the others.

"We have found adventure. We are readied for battle. Evil is said to lie ahead. We must plan carefully. Scouting ahead sounds useful."

She pauses, allowing time to scout, straining to listen in the darkness for the enemies she can't yet see.

OOC :
She uses detect evil is all directions. It's blocked by any decent thickness of stone, so she'll only sense evil here within 60 feet along passageways, or behind secret doors ;)
If scouts go ahead to scout she'll wait for them to do their job, listening and using detect evil in their direction, charging ahead if danger threatens them.

Caryllan stands up, sees nothing down the empty corridor and checkes his warhammer is close before readying his bow to fire at anything coming out of the gloom, following his comrade closely. 'We should try to follow the route which smells the nicest, this stench means nothing but disaster'.

I check to see if Huth is okay scuttling around on the floor and try to usher him into my backpack. Strapping the candles into a side pocket of my pack, I would search the area for any sign of tracks using what light I can from Ian�s sun rod with Lady Helena�s spell and sword.

�Perhaps you might conserve your sun rods Ian . Gilead and Valygar may well be able to see further than we humans.�

Tieger comes out of his daze (ooc: read: i went on holiday and forgot to say =)) as he dives down the ladder after the others. He hopes his hawk has the sense to avoid the skeleton that was sent outside, but since there is little that hwe can do about it he continues on his way, following the others and always ready to send a blast of magic where it is needed.
