Secure online file transfers

OK i need some advice folks.

We're trying to get game builds safely and securely as possible to the US via the net. FTP is obviously the easiest, but has 0% security attached to it. Does anyone have any ideas about how to do this quickly, safely and securely? So far I've come up with encryption of files and that's it...

Without buying expensive software Transfer over HTTPS or some other method of file encryption is the best way to do it (short of CD and mailing it over)

Encrypting the file is a way (PGP send over the key) and have a specific user/pswd on the FTP server only for those folks who should have it..

FTP is ****e not sure how else to do it (Tunnel through VPN via a site to site VPN would work as well but if you dont have this set up dont try it)

Yeah VPN is the other option.

Cam someone post a breif description of how it works? I gather it's encrypting files across a network or something...

We use this so we can connect to company servers from home over the net.

Seems to work ok.
