Since its launch last year, the Shadowbane beta test has attracted tens of thousands of players. The company is targeting a March 25th ship date for Shadowbane and plans to continue to expand its beta test over the coming months.

Also theres another article saying there expecting to handout another 1000 beta places over next few days.Given how long theve taken over this game, and were only hiring more people a few weeks ago wont be surprised if it slips a little.Still surprised how close it is to SWGs launch though, think most people will wait 2 weeks and try SWG first.

There just trying to get in there before SWG, I bet quite alot of people will buy it for the couple of weeks while waiting on SWG.

is it true that the severs you can play on will be limited by your billing address. so if you a euro billing addy you can only play on a euro server

I've been in beta a while now on and off and I think this has a good chance of competing even with SWG. For guilds into PvP and guild warfare, I think this offers a lot more than whats available in current games and whats coming out. In fact, the town sieges are nothing short of awesome.

If they get it right I think it'll do fine although it'll be a very niche part of the market.

It is all PvP though like UO of old.

Its not that i dont think the game will do well,But the fact it seems much more guild oriented than other games. Its seems to realy get going in the game you will need your friends around you, shure you can get the game on day 1 and start playing but youll be waiting for your friends to get there copys to form guilds start wars etc etc. That would normally take a few weeks not every one had there copy of daoc on day 1,so forming a clan wile people decide to try SB or SWG first is more difficult.SB could easyly turn out to be a better game than SWG,but it wont get the numbers at the start with SWG 2 weeks away.So it looks like youll have a few people playing SB from the start with others joining months later after theved tried out SWG.

If they both have an open beta before they start that might make a differance, certainly made a differance to AC2 i wonder if they would have sold more copys if they didnt give people the chance to find out for themselves it was crap :).Reading the first reviews of AC2 Microsoft certainly seemed to have wined and dined them quite a bit for the scores they gave it

Yes mate its very geared towards guilds but solo is not too bad.

As you say it won't have anywhere near the numbers of SWG but should do well with the PvP market.

"Interesting" pre-sale marketing ploy... pre-order and you get to play the time-restricted races immediately.

Not sure about that. (time limiting available races based on how many paid months you've played).
