Shadowrun PbP

We tried this a while back but for some reason it stopped. Probably for the same reason it always does.... ;-)

anyway anyone fancy trying it again? Im hankering after running some shadowrun again ...

simple plan: 4E rule set, basic characters - pregenned, 4 players max.

i know... next to nothing about shadowrun (its futuristic, right? is it the one thats a futuristic/fantasy hybrid type affair?), but would be up for giving it a go if theres space for someone without a clue

Futuristic, cyberpunky with elves, dwarfs trolls and dragons...

you generally end up throwing buckets of D6 and count hits (5+)

I'll be in. I loved Shadowrun back in the day (1st/2nd ed). Not played it for about eleventy billion years though.

Same here aint played since forever but would love to join in, will no doubt need prodding in the right direction here and there though!

What kind of bluid do you want to play....

Since its a skills based game you can put almost anything together but to give you an idea of things you generall see:

Close combat specialists (often with infiltration)
Ranged weapon specialists (so pistols, SMG's, Assault rifles)
Face characters (the good negotiators, interrogators etc)
Drone specialists (sit in a van and work through drones)
Hackers

There is magic but lets stay clear for now

I'll be the face guy.

Connected, fashion savvy, doesn't carry anything bigger than a handgun because it would ruin the line of his clothes. Knows tech, is a passable rigger and prefers sneaking around to hitting people from the front.

I'll be the close combat stealth chap then, lots of stealth and hand to hand/melee ability with a smattering of diplomacy and a decent pistol for when he cant get that close, no doubt clad head to toe in black stuff though!

well if brutus is taking the subtlety approach to things, i guess someone needs to be some sort of heavy-gunner, messy, destructive type then. preferably with an array of cybernetic enhancements to help out.
If i can be a driver/pilot as well as that, i'd be happy to do that too - something to do while the others are off being sneaky (actually i'm not sure if driving/piloting is even something you need skills for in shadowrun...)

Bear in mind with serious heavy weapons you're not going to get a rifle in a lot of places but no reason to not keep em in the van. And yes. Being able to drive is always useful...

3, tidying up. seems the sheets missed bits off it shouldnt.

So more a feel for is this the right idea

thats fine. hows about rifle skills (would that cover assault rifles and sniper rifles, or are they seperate skills?) for longrange/outdoor work (i'm sure some stuff happens outside, even its just shooting into a building from a nearby one ), and SMG or shotgun type skills for inside?

Hehe. only just noticed this thread. I used to play SRun a lot, although I think that was Version 2 or so. I even gamemastered a group way back on Compuserve, must have been 13 or 14 years ago. I always built kinda quirky characters with a very strong combat background...

I hope you have a lot of fun with this.
