Minor accomplishment, I know, but last night me and Sorran camped Stroper Chymes with absolutely no luck on the ring. Today I logged on after work and got it on 5th kill while just running around the zone randomly (there was NOBODY else there, I was still on rdm/war). Anyone else who needs a good ring for 30-40 melee jobs, go get yours. ^^d Venerer's ring is RARE so this is the next best thing you can get for those levels. Total drop count 1/23 for me, and if it helps, the mobs are on exactly 12 minute repop timer. Leaping Lizzy next then off to level melee subs!

i HATE that f00king lizard....0/5 and still no boots....then darkewok goes and kills VE and gets pin, while is 1/2....i thought pin was a harder drop, whats going on....as if it wasnt hard enough to claim the dumb lizard, it refuses to drop.

I've been assuming that when they changed certain NM drops for rare/ex equivalents they also improved the drop rates... no idea if this is the case or not though, but if not then they should have.

tbfh the stupid ass pin is one of the reasons i started thinking about quitting in the first place and a big reason y i haven't reinstalled yet. i don't want to lvl THF or NIN without it... i lost 3 lots on it in one day... plus i got a new job so i don't have nearly as much time to play as i did before.

You sound like Burgs did about 9 months ago - that pin causes more anguish than it's damn worth.

Yep... emp pin is highly irritating, if i could get my mitts on one i would prolly level a melee job higher >.>

But it's not required in the slightest, +10 eva is nice if you're a ninja and the DEX is nice if you're a THF for added weaponskill damage but for any other job it's nowhere near necessary, there's lots of other gear that can make up for it. >.< I've leveled melee jobs without one, only borrowed one from Scuds for last 3 levels on WAR and he used his on my ninja. Don't plan on camping for it either, I'll try leaping lizzy few more nights but if I don't get boots I won't care and go XP anyway.

You should never stop leveling a job just because you lack one random piece of (in this elitist) gear. Having said that, due to the change of it being an "Empress hairpin" now and rare/ex, the only thing keeping you from having it is just going to Valkurm and camping for days, weeks or months till you have it. If you REALLY think you need it you will get it eventually.
