Ship progression

So what do you guys recomend for ship progression.

Frigate -> cruiser -> destroyer ?

Or jump to destroyer, Max frigate skills then go cruiser.....

In addition someone mentioned last night on newbie chat that people were hoarding minerals for some new addon or something coming in 2-3 weeks. Is this going to effect ammo supplies ? Do you think it's worth me training up some manufacturing/Blueprint copying skills ?

Cartwheel RIGHT
I'm workign on:
frigate -. crusider -> Cruioser blown up, back to Frigate... Stivk with frigate for ages then go to Assault frigate, maybe doing a bit of cruising inbetween to get guns up.

After looking at the faction destroyers, i didn't particularly like the ways you could / should set one up, so gaveit a miss.

not sure though, i guess it's personal preference.

I tak ur cheerioZ
I'm still in frigates, Even though I do have a Thorax and a Catalyst destroyer lying around which i use when i feel like it, I just prefur the speed of frigates, which is why im going Interceptor/Covert Ops/Assault Frigate eventually :)

in spaaaaace!
Destroyers seem to work best in fleet actions to take out the enemy frigs. Not so good for solo play.

A good frig appears to work for all level 2 and 2 missions. If we get a a few cruisers to provide support we should be able to have a go at the 0.4 complexes. I've read blogs of people going into 0.0 with cruisers and frigs, but we'd need good team work and dedicated EW and command ships.

Long term im looking to go special ops then recon. I like the idea of being forward ops for PVP but time will tell.

Interceptors - Extremely fast and agile, hard to hit. Cheap ships. Screwed if webbed(slowed). Ok damage. Tackling kings(web/warp scramble). Zeus your mana for ceptor' advice.

Assault Frigates - Fast and pack a punch considering their size. Rely on more on high resists then speed to tank. A bit more versatile then a inty but no where near as fast. Cheap ship hull again.

Interdictors - Destroyer class ship. Drops a bubble that stops warping. Popular in Fleet PvP. Okish damage. Crappy tank.

Covert ops - Frigates class. Allows use of high end cloakig devices. Used to scout out other ships/gangs/fleets. Gang members warp to his/her position while he sits amongst them cloaked. Pilots much needed and very popular. Can get expensive due to crappy tank and price of T2 cloaking dvice.

Combat Recon - Cruiser hull ships designed for ECM and different races give different boni to different parts. I think caldari versions are the best as they receive target jamming boni. Good base resists and good for PvP

Force Recon - Cruiser hull ships designed for cloaking and setting up Cynosural fields for capital ships.

Heavy assault ships(HAC's) - Beefy cruiser hulls with high resists. Alot of fire power with not too bad speed/agility. Expensive ship hull for a cruiser due to its popularity.

Battlecruiser - Half way point between cruiser and battlship. Skill boni to resists. Can be made into a good damage ships and very cheap for its size. High sinature radius and low agility hurts it.

Command ships - Uses modules that boost leadership skills efficiency. Very good tank. Good DPS with a skilling. High skilling time. Still suffer high sig radius.

Battleships - Probably most common ship. Cheapish price considering they are big. Very high DPS with skills. Low skill time to get into it. Lots of fitting slots to make it a rock for a tank. Fleet PvPer and gate sniper.

Logistic ships - The healers of EVE. Cruiser ships desgined with their faction in mind. Depending on the racial, receives boni to shield arrays, armour repairers etc.

For Zerine...

Scorpion and Falcon are the enchanters of EVE. Bother receive vey good jamming boni and can make sure people are perma jammed.
Scorpion has a huge tank and deal out decent damaga. Falcon can cloak and deal out ok damage to small ships.

i can lend people the caldari types of most ship classes, if you want to try them out. though you'll have to be careful with the cerby and eagle :p

Imho Z it's all too easy to go pop, I'd only lend stuff out if you don't care about it.

Which reminds me, I got two Bantams that I can lend people, only one problem with one of them, it's in 0.4 space :p

if people have the skills for the cerbies tank, then it'd be fine :p (it stood up to 2 battleships, a cruiser and an interceptor last time i played :p and yes, they really were trying to kill me. after about 15mins we just decided to stop and go home, as we all had better things to do :p)
but yeah, they probly dont as thats several years worth of skills to get that tough :p.

and similar to althorn btw, i have a crow spare if anyone wants to try it. you'll have to pick it up from immensea though.... :p
