Absolutly loving this game, it is hitting that RPG spot :D

Not very far in, but like the fact that a 2H is viable :) Saved my game in the Bandit dungeon / gold claw quest.

Taken me a while to sort out how to switch quickly between sword & spells, but think I might have nearly got it...sort of!

Got this for xmas, liking the magic in one hand, sword in the other fun, use magic until out of juice, start whacking with a sword/mace (still not sure which I like more), and then when I'm getting tired, go back to magic.

Main thing I've noticed is heavy armour seems to make you tired much much quicker, I'm not sure if I should avoid heavy until I get the perks to make it less tiring or just stick in light armour and stay agile (is there a dodge/roll thing btw ?)

Sooooo much fun ! And sooo many choices :)

No dodge/roll, but you can increase your block.

Melee attacks use stamina btw and this will make u tired in a fight.

Still enjoying this, did a quest last night that I stumbled accross on my way to another quest and the dungeon took me a couple of hours to work through it all :)

2H maniac still for me and my next char will be a necromancer I think.

there is a forward roll that you can use while in stealth, takes a fair amount of stealth though, think its around 60

Except for RP - there are few reasons not to use heavy armour :)
(Though you can hit the armour cap with any allegedly)

Maybe at higher levels with more perks, but right now light keeps me much more mobile and able to do much more, with less time waiting around for energy to recharge

Infact if I can hit the armour cap with light, what is the advantage of heavy ?

Dunno, still not played it that much, but from what I've played up to level 7

light = less defense, more offense (as you can swing often and recover energy quicker)
heavy = more defense, less offense

Going to try a conjurer next, see how far I get with conjured weapons and pets, relive my original MUD days :D

I don't know if you can make fatigue potions in Skyrim but they help at earlier levels using melee, you can make them easy too. With Melee I just move back and forth, it is easy when you get used to it. As for the mob leveling in Oblivion, they do level with you, but I am level 21 and can smash most things to bits. They have a slider in options though if mobs are to hard. Even as a fighter sneak is always your friend.

Currently 124 hours into Oblivion and I still haven't finished everything.
Like I said in my last post, balls to oblivion for a good 8-10 months.

Level 5 with my conjurer and having a blast, my summoned sword is upgraded and one good dungeon and all my summoned weapons will have the capture souls. Which brings me to my next question:

Do I need to buy empty soul gems, and then for example when I enchant do I use the full soul gem, or just empty the gem so I can re-use it ?

And just remembered I won't get soul capture, I need to half the cost of my apprentice spells so I can actually cast them :D

soul gems are single-use jobbies. until you get a black star/star of azura, anyway. and even then you only have one reusable one...

What I did was buy the soul steal spell , enchanted a sword and I use that every so often to fill up soul gems as needed.

I re-charge that sword and my fire sword as I go no problem.

Personally I have around 50+ soul gems on me it seems, so easy to find and I enchant most stuff when I find it too before selling, but still never seem to run out.

What happens if you try to enchant something with too high level a buff, for the soul gem ? Do you lose the item and the gem ?

Also do mine's respawn ore ? looking into ways to make money :)

Never known an enchant not to work, seems you either can or can't. What you do get though is a crap enchantment eg fire damage may be enchanded at +20, but if you are low in enchanting or use a petty gem you might only get +1 damage.

Ores re-spawn too :)
